In pictures: Courtney and Sev’s Completed House

Courtney and Sev arrived on The Block with plenty of experience, and they sure did flex it.
Courtney is a construction-site manager and Sev is an interior designer, meaning they had both major parts of the competition covered.
Courtney and Sev were perhaps Nine
That translated into lots of success, with six room wins along the way.
Keep reading to see their work in full.
House 4’s Guest Bedroom | Week 1
In Week 1, House 4 was actually looked after by Lisa and Rosco – but Courtney and Sev chose to swap with them after taking out the House Decider challenge with the room reveal.
The married couple hoped to show off their styling flair in Week 1, but instead missed the mark with their “hodgepodge”, “Flintstone” bedroom.
Lisa and Rosco’s aim was to design a room that left the judges feeling a sense of calm. Things didn’t exactly go to plan ... Nine
Marty Fox was “distracted by the technical and execution problems” in the room. Perhaps the biggest eyesore was their wall niche.
“It’s so bizarre that it’s not straight. What have they done? It doesn’t work at all. It feels like Flintstone-y. If that’s on purpose … yeah, I just hate it,” Marty said.
The room was described as “try-hard”, “mismatched”, “crooked” and with “no architectural flair”. Nine
The room lacked quality craftsmanship, especially the application of the textured paint, but they scored points for trying something adventurous!

House 4’s Family Bathroom | Week 2
Now in their desired House 4, Courtney and Sev threw everything at creating an ultra-luxury bathroom – including a lot of extra money.
Darren noticed the duo had gone above and beyond, and felt “it’s landed perfectly”.
Walking into the bathroom, the judges were simply in awe. Nine
The judges loved the oyster rainbow wall tiles and the Velux skylight, plus storage queen Shaynna was obsessed with all the drawer and shelf space.
The judges had just one question – how on earth did they pay for all this?
Courtney and Sev estimated a spend of $20,700.25 but actually forked out $53,272.33, prompting a few stern talking tos from Scotty about budget!
The judges couldn’t believe what they’d managed to pull off in just a week. Nine
The marble, curves and rendering in the powder room are very bougie inclusions, but the judges love them all.

House 4’s Main Bedroom and Walk-in Robe | Week 3
Week 3 was an interesting one – Courtney and Sev had complete control over their bedroom, but their walk-in robe was designed by Lisa and Rosco when they had House 4 in Week 1.
And safe to say, it wasn’t to the girls’, or the judges’, taste.
The space felt a bit too enclosed. Nine
Shaynna suggested taking the cupboard doors off to create an open wardrobe, which would make the room feel bigger.
Moving into the bedroom, Darren loved the headboard – but his colleagues definitely disagreed.
Shaynna took issue with the curve, making a devastating comparison. “I feel a body needs to be laid to rest on that bed,” she said.
Marty agreed, calling it “a really high-end coffin”.
Brutal. Nine
The execution of their ceiling curve and fireplace tiles also let them down.

House 4’s Main Ensuite | Week 4
The house’s main ensuite was simple yet elegant – which was absolutely right for the Mount Eliza market, the judges agreed.
The judges adored the floor tile, which went perfectly with the benchtop, and were amazed by the expensive plaster that covered the walls and ceiling.
Darren said the room’s “tactility is yummy”. Nine
But then the judges turned their attention to the “tiled couch” in the shower, which they didn’t think made any sense in the room.
Elsewhere, high-end details like gold tapware and the perfect styling got their ticks of approval.
The “couch” brought down their scores this week. Nine
In fact, the judges agreed that it could have been a 10 out of 10 room … if it wasn’t for the couch.

House 4’s Living, Dining and Alfresco | Week 5
Courtney and Sev’s living room got a double makeover through the season, as the judges deemed it their Redo Room for failing to impress the first time.
It was second time’s a charm, with their updates impressing the judges immensely.
Courtney and Sev threw everything at their redo Living and Dining Room, and knocked it out of the park. Nine
Courtney and Sev brought in three very distinct new design elements, including a mirrored wall, a fireplace and a custom coffee table from none other than Christian Cole.
“It’s one of the best living spaces in block history, when you combine everything,” Marty praised.
It was a big tick for House 4’s dining area. Nine
In the dining area, all three judges loved the wooden table and chairs, and thought it had the best positioning they’d seen in the five houses.
Praise continued outside on the terrace, which they agreed was the best they had seen.
They didn’t have a bad word to say. Nine

House 4’s Guest Suite | Week 6
Courtney and Sev nailed the balance of a big design with a small budget in their Guest Suite, which blew the judges away with its amenity.
Their guest suite included a kitchenette, full wardrobe, TV and ensuite bathroom.
“Look at the size of this room!” Marty exclaimed upon entry. Nine
Another big win for the girls was their decision to move the entryway to make room for a full wardrobe.
Moving on to the guest ensuite, the judges couldn’t find anything to complain about.
“Oh, yes!” Marty reacted. Nine
Marty was full of praise as he said this space would certainly bring in buyers.

House 4’s Kitchen, Butler’s Pantry and Powder Room | Week 7
Courtney and Sev had a huge advantage during Kitchen Week, after a previous room win earned them a huge appliance upgrade.
Marty said the kitchen had everything a buyer would want “in spades.”
The kitchen included a custom pendant light from Beacon, designed by Sev. Nine
Shaynna loved the curved details in the kitchen, including on the island and the range hood.
There was plenty of hidden storage and amenity in the kitchen, which the judges loved.
Their only critique was the unnecessary doors between the kitchen and pantry.
The judges liked the pantry - but wish it had been kept open. Nine
Lastly in the powder room, Shaynna labelled the space “gorgeous”.
All three judges loved the continuation of the curve details throughout all three spaces.
The judges again loved the curves in the sink and bench. Nine

House 4’s Rumpus and Laundry | Week 8
None of the judges could hide their excitement in House 4’s mammoth rumpus space.
“This is the first time on The Block that we’ve seen someone do this and we’ve said it so many times,” Shaynna exclaimed when she noticed the TV hidden behind the sliding cabinet doors.
The rumpus had instant “impact”, the judges said. Nine
The judges said that the room simply had an expensive, luxurious feel without compromising on comfort.
The kitchenette was stocked with all the necessities from a mini-fridge to wine glasses and a gorgeous bronze mirror backdrop. The laundry continued the love-fest, as the judges couldn’t find anything to fault.
The laundry was executed to perfection, with Shaynna commenting on the size and quality of the washer and dryer. Nine
With ample storage space and an unmatched ease of use, the laundry simply blew the judges away.

House 4’s Kids Bedroom | Week 9
The judges were blown away by the colour-drenched palette of House 4’s bedroom.
Shaynna noted, “This is the first room we’ve seen on The Block with colour, and it’s perfectly executed.”
Despite the bright pallette, it didn’t feel “overdone for the sake of it”. Nine
The trio loved the wavy bedhead and felt the study book and cupboard added great amenity.
Overall, the room was “sweet” but could also easily be aged up for an older child.
“This is what Courtney and Sev do super well, they innovate with their creative thinking,” Darren said. Nine
The judges summed it up in one word: “Excellent.”

House 4’s Outdoor Terrace and Pool | Week 10
Courtney and Sev’s decision to swap to House 4 after Week 1 immediately made sense to the judges upon walking outside.
“This is everything!” Marty reacted.
Marty Fox, Shaynna Blaze and Darren Palmer were immediately impressed with the size of the girls’ outdoor area, with Marty even going so far as to say: “This is everything!” Nine
The dining area was great, but unfortunately, the bar table let it down as it was too high for the space.
Fortunately, all three of the judges loved the pool area and entertaining space tucked to the side.
Fortunately, all three of the judges loved the pool area and entertaining space tucked to the side. According to Scotty Cam, they even called it a “million dollar backyard”. Nine

House 4’s Backyard and Garage | Week 11
The judges started in Courtney and Sev’s garage, and were immediately in love with the dark, “sexy” mood.
The standout for all the judges was of course the cellar, which Dave said was the “best wine cellar” he had “ever seen.”
They thought it was a “piece of artwork”. Nine
Moving out into the backyard, the compliments just kept coming.
Marty immediately loved the arbour leading to the back gate and Dave couldn’t take his eyes off the outdoor shower.
However, Marty did think adding pavers through the lawn was a mistake that made it less functional.
Marty would take the pavers out. Nine
All three judges loved the fireplace area, but raised concerns that there wasn’t enough lawn for kids to play on.

House 4’s Front Yard and Facade | Week 12
Courtney and Sev’s budget woes definitely hampered their final week on The Block.
After being frontrunners all season, their front yard left the judges disappointed, as Shaynna said it felt unfinished and obviously like they had run out of money.
Although, Dave thought it lacked “kerb appeal”. Nine
Darren gave the girls credit for including a hardstand for a boat or caravan, but Dave thought it needed a tree or hedges to separate it from the grassed area and give more privacy.
However, he was a big fan of the custom arbours and the subtle sculptural element they added to the space.
Down the stairs, which Shaynna pointed out were missing a handrail, they found clever uses of space with two separate seating areas but were again underwhelmed.
Shaynna said it was the most disappointing result she’d seen. Nine
It was perfectly summed up as “a bit meh”.
