Room Reveal: Courtney and Sev’s Main Bedroom and Walk-in wardrobe
Fresh off the back of their second win in a row, Courtney and Sev were gunning for a hat-trick. This week, they had a strict budget and made some nifty DIY decisions. Will it be enough to come out on top?
Off the back to two room wins, Courtney and Sev were full of confidence going into Main Bedroom week. However, a tight budget and time constraints meant they had to DIY some aspects of their room.

Although they didn’t design their walk-in wardrobe, the judges argued their design choices made the room feel small.

“You need that feeling of space...getting ready, I could see arguments breaking out,” Marty said.

Shaynna suggested taking the cupboard doors off to create an open wardrobe, which would make the room feel bigger.

The wardrobe was complete with a vanity area, which gave them some praise.

Moving into the bedroom, Darren loved the headboard and the embedded carpet detail. “Stunning,” he said.
“These things are absolutely how you define yourself separate to the market with such a constrained brief.”

However, not everyone was a fan of the headboard. Despite their guest room featuring a similar headboard, which Shayna loved, she said this one wasn’t executed properly.

She took issue with the curve, making a devastating comparison.
“I feel a body needs to be laid to rest on that bed,” Shayna said. Brutal.

“We’re in a coffin, a really high end coffin,” Marty agreed, also taking issue with the curve.

Darren pointed out the edge line of the ceiling plaster was “terrible.”
“That’s not passing a breathalyser test,” Marty said.
