Maddy and Charlotte's Living and Dining Room

This week was "a little emotional" for the Maddy and Charlotte.
Arriving four weeks late into the competition, they felt they had less time to plan for their living and dining room – their biggest space on The Block this year.

Maddy felt "frazzled" about her design choices, despite last week winning their first official Room Reveal.
Did her amazing pieces work together in the end?
Scroll through to see what judges Shaynna Blaze, Darren Palmer and Marty Fox thought of House 1's living and dining room.
"I just want to do decently," said Maddy feeling not so confident ahead of reveals. "I don't want to be getting sixes."
Charlotte jumped in: "The 10 grand is beautiful for a win but I'm just happy with good feedback. Honestly, constructive feedback, I'm here for."
Well girls, ask and you shall receive!

House 1 spent $36,600 on their living and dining space this week. Quite a jump above the recommenced budget of $25,000.
House 1 had the second smallest living and dining room this season. But did they make an impact?
Walking in, Shaynna Blaze had three words to say: "Oh my god."
"What a space!" she clapped and let out a little cheer. "Look how the light is beautifully dappled though those curtains."
With a smile on his face, Marty Fox agreed.
"It's massive," Marty beamed as he looked up to the ceiling.
"That ceiling line and those Veluxes there," said Shaynna as she pointed up to the skylights. "It just soars and is flooded with natural light."
"From Kitchen Week to Living and Dining, this feels like one cohesive inviting, homely warm room," Marty praised.
And we know how much Marty loves consistency!
Darren, who'd been quiet so far, jumped in.
"It's elegant," smiled Darren.
"It feels friendly and natural and comforting and inviting – everything you want when you walk through a front door."
House 1's living and dining space flows on from their near perfect kitchen. You can see the cohesion here!
The girls opted for a large L-shaped lounge perfect for entertaining.
A hero artwork sat above the fireplace, with a stunning rug splashed over a gorgeous herringbone floor.
Shaynna noted the cabinetry installed either side of the fireplace matches very well with the kitchen joinery.
"I think that's natural timber," she said in awe. "That's beautiful. Wow."
She did however have an issue with their dining table.
Maddy and Charlotte chose a medium sized dining table made of gorgeous natural timber.
But would six seats be enough in a holiday home?
"That table could probably take a chair at each end but I still think it should be bigger," Shaynna suggested.
