From the get-go, there was only one way to describe the inspiration behind Kylie and Brad's bathroom: black.

Blackblackblackblackblack. And then, after all that, even more black.

It was certainly a bold decision for their first room on The Block 2024, but the married parents-of-four stuck to their guns.

Despite a tough week of setbacks, including a broken $700 tile and a bath that wouldn't fit, they delivered an all-black bathroom that is sure to be one of the most talked about rooms in Block history.

Did it pay off? Scroll through to see what judges Shaynna Blaze, Darren Palmer and Marty Fox thought of House 4's guest bathroom.

Kylie and Brad knew their colour scheme (or lack thereof) was going to be a risky choice from the beginning, but the pair stuck to their guns.

The CommBank smart board recommended a $20k budget for the guest bathroom, and Kylie and Brad spent $27,739 on their space.

"I think this room's unique just because it's so far away from what everyone else is doing," Kylie said.

"Hearing from the judges will really set the tone on where we're going to go from here. If they completely tear it apart I may have to rethink what I'm doing."

Even Scotty had a feeling this could only go one of two ways: "black beauty, or Batman's s--tter".

Here's hoping it's the latter!

The judges were immediately wowed when they entered the room.

On first impressions, all three judges were taken back by the boldness but Shaynna decided she loved it.

She wanted drama from these rooms – and Kylie and Brad certainly delivered!

Shaynna also liked a lot of Kylie and Brad's choices around their vanity.

She really liked the wood paneling on the wall, which she said was a "cute little groove" that broke up the black and white well.

She also adored the herringbone pattern tiling.

Shaynna praised the large tiles Kylie picked out.

"I'm loving the subtlety of the Dekton, which is on the walls in the shower and also on the floor," she said.

There was one detail that Shaynna was surprised she liked!

She said she was never usually a fan of a black toilet, but "this one disappears so that works".

"I love the feeling of it," she said of the room overall.

Marty was surprised.

"So you actually like this?" he asked.

"We haven't got through to it, [but] the first impact to me goes 'phwoar', you have grabbed me."

Uh oh. We feel a classic Marty jab coming...

Marty agreed with her – sort of.

"It's grabbed me but for all the wrong reasons," he replied.

Darren felt somewhere in the middle of his fellow judges.

"What I do like in here is the dark palette," he said.

"If we're looking at this room as a starting point for the home and they're intending to do like a 'black shack', awesome.

"I think that's a really appropriate, beachside holiday accommodation look."

Darren felt there was a lot of "great decision making" in the room.

"The Dekton's fantastic, the vanity is gorgeous, I even like the granite top."

But there was one particular part of the room he could not stop raving about.

Look at that skylight!

"Great use of skylight, phenomenal," Darren beamed.

"Having this big section carved out of the ceiling, it just gives you this volume of space that's already really elevated because of these high ceilings so that is a huge success.

"Big tick, massive win," he said.

Uh oh. We sense a "but" coming!
