All Stars Alisa and Lysandra reveal why winning every room is not the secret to winning Auction Day as they visit The Block

EXCLUSIVE: When identical twin sisters Alisa and Lysandra stepped onto The Block 11 years ago, they could've never imagined what was to come.

In the years that followed, the Adelaide duo competed on The Block twice – taking home more than $1 million in prize money – quit their jobs as police officers, started an interior design business and launched a personal care brand al.ive body that is in homes all around Australia.

Alisa and Lysandra returned to their Block roots as All Stars and dined with Scott Cam and Main Ensuite Week winners Courtney and Grant to impart all of their Block wisdom.

If there was one thing Alisa and Lysandra wanted Courtney and Grant to take from their meeting it was always make the layout of your room a priority.

"The one thing we always did well was the layout. Don't worry about what the room looks like, worry if it's functional first," Alisa said.

Scotty seconded that, calling it "the best advice [he's] ever heard".

Alisa and Lysandra dished out more golden advice saying, "Work out what rooms to invest your money in. You don't have to win every week."

The sisters admitted they would often underspend on rooms like bedrooms that buyers could easily change but would put all their money an efforts into spaces like kitchens and bathrooms.

Alisa and Lysandra also encouraged Courtney and Grant to get creative with their ideas.

"Every single time you deliver a room, think outside the square. How can you push it to the next level," they said.

The twins referenced their walk-in robe that included its very own bathtub.
