Exclusive: Maddy and Charlotte speak out after becoming the youngest-ever auction winners with $1.65 million profit from The Block 2024

EXCLUSIVE: They've been the underdogs since day one but when it mattered most, Maddy and Charlotte finished on top as the winners of The Block 2024.

The sisters smashed the competition, with a knock-out bid from billionaire bidder Adrian Portelli for $3,500,000.

That meant Maddy and Charlotte walked away with a total of $1,650,000! Not bad for the youngest-ever Block contestants.

"We just won The Block!" they cheered, absolutely delighted with the result that blew everyone away.

The two are the youngest-ever contestants on The Block, with Charlotte just 22 and older sister Maddy, 24.

They grew up watching The Block and in 2024, walk away with the winner's bounty – an additional $100,000 on top of their $1,550,000 million profit. The sisters said it was "a childhood dream" to be part of the renovation.

After their monumental win, the sisters had an important message for those watching: "Just be kind and be true to who you are," Maddy said.

While Charlotte added: "Kill 'em with kindness. Kindness always wins."

It's safe to say those three words summed up the sisters' approach to The Block.

Maddy and Charlotte were in the nerve-wracking position of last in the auction order and remained hopefully there was still "money in the room".

There wasn't a single bid against Adrian's huge $3,500,000 million, an amount he admitted reflected his admiration of the two stoic contestants.

"It caught me off caught," Maddy admitted, "I was expecting a bit of a fight."

The pair faced a mountain of challenges throughout their time on the show. They came in part-way through the season as the new owners of House 1, after former contestants Jesse and Paige made the tough decision to leave the competition.

The two clashed with the home's existing builder in the early days, before bravely parting ways and finding their own team to bring their modern style to life.

"It was tough, I'm not going to lie," explained Maddy.

"We just wanted to keep…" started Charlotte, "true to ourselves," finished Maddy.

Maddy and Charlotte found breaking into the tight group of Block contestants challenging and were stunned when they learned other couples had been talking about them behind their backs.

A rumour whipped around site that the pair had lied about being properly flippers, something they were baffled by. The sisters felt they had been open about their past renovation experience and added their "portfolio" wasn't exactly extensive.

With $1,650,000 million now tucked into their bank accounts, that may be about to change. "No more tears," said Charlotte. "They're tears of happiness!"
