Before and after: The Block's Alisa and Lysandra transform rundown Airbnb into a stunning coastal escape

Two-time Block contestants Alisa and Lysandra are in a special and rare group of teams to have competed on the renovation show in consecutive years.
The identical twin sisters won The Block: Sky High in 2013 and went straight back the next year for The Block: Fans vs Favourites in 2014.
In 2025, the couple took on a mammoth renovation project – revitalising a Tudor-style beachside Airbnb in just six weeks.
They aimed to merge heritage character with contemporary coastal aesthetics, integrating modern conveniences and durable materials suited for the high-turnover of guests at 'Tudor Charm by the Bay'.

The duo made simple changes to completely transform the kitchen space.
A warm timber island bench serves as the centerpiece, complemented by sleek cabinetry in muted tones that create a seamless, inviting aesthetic.
The choice of flooring brightens up the room, with grey cupboards adding a sense of sophistication to the space.
"We wanted this Airbnb to feel like a luxurious home-away-from-home – a space that exudes both style and comfort while withstanding the demands of frequent guests," says Lysandra.
"Every detail has been carefully curated to enhance functionality and beauty."
Handcrafted tiled splashbacks, brushed brass fixtures, and rattan accents add layers of texture to the space.

Wow. It's like another space entirely!
Selecting readily available, high-quality materials kept the project on track without compromising on design.
