‘Monstrosity’: Dan and Sarah-Jane appalled by living room disaster, rip into team’s million dollar blunder

This week’s Dan vs Dani began with big congratulations from guest host Sarah-Jane to Dan on the birth of his and Dani’s son, Fletcher! At the time of filming, he was just two-days old.

The good news aside, Dan and Sarah-Jane had some serious business to get to with The Block team’s Living, Dining and Alfresco space revealed – and there was a million-dollar mistake they just couldn’t get past.

Out in Chantel and Wyatt’s alfresco space, Dan took one look at their sponge-like table before declaring, “I don’t want to have lunch on that.”

Considering it was the only feature that framed their million-dollar sea view, Dan and Sarah-Jane thought it was a huge misstep.

House 2 wasn’t the only team to fumble their alfresco space. In Courtney and Sev’s alfresco area, Sarah-Jane learned they swapped to a non-sea view house which she thought was “a decision they will come to regret”.

After all the effort Tayla put into chopping and changing House 5’s fireplace, Dan and Sarah-Jane weren’t impressed by it at all.

Looking over at the unfinished fireplace and exposed flue Dan assumed “something bad has happened here”.

Sarah-Jane called the fireplace a “monstrosity” while Dan thought it looked like papier-mâché.

Their solution? Get rid of the whole fireplace and start again.

There were more fireplace woes in Lisa and Rosco’s living room with Dan “deeply offended” over their fireplace hearth.
