Adam and Jolene’s secret weapon wows all three judges during Living and Dining reveals

Adam and Jolene pulled out all the stops in an effort to wow the judges during Living, Dining and Alfresco week – and thankfully, it paid off big time.
The couple walked away with the win, largely credited to a show-stopping dining room piece they snapped up after another team was priced out.
Adam and Jolene were lucky enough to score a Christian Cole piece for their dining room and it paid off big time. Nine
Jolene’s decision to reach out to master furniture craftsman Christian Cole has become one of the most crucial ones yet for House 1.
Courtney and Sev had originally lined up Christian Cole for a dining table for House 4, but with their budget already in a dire spot, they were forced to cancel their table order.
On a whim, Jolene reached out and she was in luck, scoring what became the show-stopping feature in their home and ultimately, helped them land the win this week.
As the judges walked in, all three were instantly drawn to the stunning piece.
“That’s expensive,” Darren Palmer noted. “I think having the luxury of the ability to have this many people sitting and dining, scale is luxury.”
Marty noted that it’s the “perfect” dining table “that has been built to absolute perfection” – hats off to you for that one, Christian!
The sheer size of the 10-seat dining table wowed the judges, who were blown away by the craftsmanship in it too. Nine
While the sheer scale of the 10-seat dining table was clearly the wow-factor, it wasn’t the only detail in the room that the judges loved.
Darren and Shaynna Blaze were impressed with the mammoth mirror Jolene went with on the side of the room, in an effort to maximize the view.
While Darren thought the choice was “genius” Marty didn’t agree, instead noting that all it did was give way to see more of a wall in the reflection.
Their styling also got high praise from all three judges, however.
The huge mirror and Jolene’s styling added to the overall appeal of the room, helping them land the win. Nine
The colour palette, design choices and the minimal feel really nailed, with the space feeling “elevated and sophisticated.”
But, there’s one downside to all of these showstopping features; their budget took a decent hit to land this finished project.
The couple dropped an eye-watering $40,054 on the space – roughly double their weekly budget – but defended the blowout, insisting it’s the room that will sell the home on auction day.
