Amy Lyall

Experience

Amy is a celebrity and entertainment specialist with an extensive background in covering local and international stars. She brings expertise and a genuine passion for reality TV, from the high-stakes drama of Married At First Sight to the Real Housewives franchises. 

Amy has been a part of the nine.com.au team since October 2018, when she joined 9Honey as weekend editor. Through this role Amy worked to ensure that breaking news and content was delivered across the weekend while helping with the daily news cycle. She then moved to the 9Entertainment team, where she was the editor of The Block website. Amy successfully evolved the platform from a seasonal companion into a year-round destination for "Blockheads," supplementing exclusive show and contestant updates with evergreen home, cleaning, and styling content. 

Amy spent six months as the deputy editor for 9Entertainment in 2022, before taking on the role of editor, working across the websites featuring Nine’s shows including Married At First Sight, The Block, Love Island, Lego Masters Australia and more. In April 2023 Amy took a break from her position at 9Entertainment to go on maternity leave after welcoming her first child. 

In March 2024, Amy returned to 9Honey as parenting editor. Driven by a passion for family-focused storytelling, she covered everything from childcare and lifestyle hacks to real-life features and opinion pieces. She also became a specialist in baby name trends and analysis.

Amy is currently the associate entertainment editor - formerly 9Honey morning editor - and has been in this role since March 2025. She focuses on setting the daily news agenda and driving high-impact celebrity, reality TV, and movie content tailored to audience interests. 

Prior to Nine Amy worked as a lifestyle reporter for Kidspot at Newscorp from 2016 to 2018. 

Amy’s first job in the media industry was a showbiz reporter for The Daily Mail Australia in 2015. 

Education

Amy completed a Bachelor of Communication (Journalism) at the Charles Sturt University in Bathurst in 2012. Amy went on to complete a Master of Arts in Journalism at the University of Technology Sydney in 2015.
