Episode 23 recap: Team accuse Chantel and Wyatt of ‘cheating’ as ‘scandal’ takes over site

Guest Suite Week has begun on The Block – but who has time for bathrooms when serious “cheating” allegations are sending the site into meltdown.

House 3’s Lisa and Rosco have just come across a “juicy” accusation. “What a scandal, if that’s true, fists are going to fly,” Lisa gasps.

But hold on now, Lisa. Aren’t you in trouble?

She’s run over a super important piece of TRUECORE® steel with her car, and Site Supervisor GMac is not impressed.

“It’ll buff out,” Lisa says a little too optimistically, before realising that imperative piece of steel belongs to their house. “This is bad.”

“That’s maggoted!” GMac seethes as he inspects the damage.

Lisa has to pay up. Her budget this week is $30,000, and she’ll need a lot more to replace the steel panel meant for the outside of their house.

‘Monstrosity’: Dan and Sarah-Jane appalled by living room disaster, rip into team’s million dollar blunder

Chantel and Wyatt in House 2 are the first to be approved for waterproofing Tuesday (again), and teams are getting a little suspicious.

All-Star Spence, who is filling in for Rick while he recovers, is speculating that House 2’s legendary Cursio brothers have snuck back in to work after hours.

Spence has done that maths and thinks there’s no way possible the tilers could lay two coats of waterproofing last night and be ready to tile today.

“If they’re tiling this morning, it’s because they came back late last night,” the chippy conspires.

There needs to be at least four hours of drying time between coats and in the video above, Spence thinks he has the maths all figured out.

Tayla is stunned to learn of said “illegal activities”.

“House 2 has been cheating this whole freakin’ thing, let’s be quite honest,” she claims. “They’re doing shady s--t over there.”

Look, Spence doesn’t quite agree with the extent of Tayla’s accusation, but the duo confront the Cursios nonetheless.

“So you got two coats on yesterday afternoon,” Spence goes in hot. “How?!”

“Easy,” Adrian Cursio replies. “Do you want some tips?” Mic drop.

Tayla keeps the accusations running and the Cursio’s whip out video proof:

The proof is in the waterproofing! The brothers have a timestamped video of them leaving site, on time.

Apparently, the brothers document all their work, start time and finish times for invoicing which makes total sense. But not to Tayla.

“I do not believe them, do you?” the still suspicious star quizzes Spence.

As the sun sets, the rumour of the day has not gone away. It’s run wild.

House 5 tell the girls in House 4, who tell House 3, who tell House 1, who tell House 4 – and we’ve come full circle.

Lisa, the now unbothered queen, concludes there’s literally zero evidence to support Spence and Tayla’s claims.

Unbothered queen Chantel just thinks the other teams are jealous.

Jolene in House 1 is still processing the goss. “What the f--k is going on?” she wonders out loud.

And same girl, same.
