Scott Cam dispels big rumour about The Block and reveals the 'number one' mistake contestants can make

EXCLUSIVE: Scotty Cam has seen it all over his many years hosting The Block.

From heartbreak and challenges to record-breaking auction results, it's fair to say the 61-year-old knows the series like the back of his hand.

In our exclusive video – which you can watch above – Scotty explained the "number one" mistake teams can make and dispelled a long-time rumour about the series.

"The thing that people don't get... it's the time pressure," he began.

"It's the lack of sleep. Some people think it's smoke and mirrors and that they've got outside help – there's no smoke and mirrors. There is no outside help."

He went on to call out the biggest mistake contestants can make after signing up for the 12-week renovation show, and you can see exactly what that is in the clip above.
