Scott Cam gives an exciting update on The Block 2025 as he reveals simple home maintenance tips to do before the long weekend

The Block host Scott Cam has an exciting update for fans desperate for news about the upcoming series.

Set in Daylesford, Victoria, the 2025 season is set to hit our screens later this year.

Scotty appeared on Today to share some important home maintenance tips for home owners, and couldn't miss the opportunity to get Block fans buzzing.

"We're halfway through filming right now," the host shared.

"We've been working seven days a week and it goes for three months."

As many Australians prepare to head away for the upcoming Easter long weekend, Scotty and the crew would remain hard at work in Daylesford.

"We're working over Easter but that's alright, because we love doing it," he said.

For anyone who is planning a trip, Scotty shared a series of important tips to keep your home safe and secure in your absence.

The host – who has partnered with insurance company Allianz – said a report commissioned by the brand found four out of five homeowners avoid essential maintenance checks.

Scotty encouraged homeowners to inspect key parts of their home before they head away, to avoid any headaches upon their return.

"You can get in there and check your drains, that's a real easy one. Check your gutters, run some hoses down drains to see if they are blocked," Scotty advised.

"And I think you should just poke your head under the cupboard to the flexi hose and see if there's a little drip, or see if it's kinked or rusty. And then that's a situation where you get the plumber to come in and replace things before you go away."

He also shared important advice to keep everything secure and deter criminals while you're away, including installing sensor lights and visible cameras.

"The big one I do too is stickers – all over your windows and your front door to say that there is CCTV here and you are being recorded," he explained.

"Things like that, that would deter someone from continuing at your place."
