Travis Kelce breaks his silence on Prince William’s claim about viral Taylor Swift snap
Travis Kelce has responded to Prince William’s surprising confession that he repeatedly tried to push the NFL star out of a royal selfie with Taylor Swift in 2024.
Chatting about the famous photo – which included Swift, Travis, William, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte – the Kansas City Chiefs player admitted he understood why the future King of England was hesitant to let him be in it.

“I get it, man. I was just a boyfriend at that point. I wasn’t her husband yet,” he told brother Jason Kelce on their New Heights podcast.
Travis joked that William probably thought to himself: “We don’t really know if this is going to last, so can you just kind of move out of the way really quick? So we can keep this photo forever?”
He and Swift finally tied the knot in July this year with a lavish ceremony at Madison Square Garden, though no photos of the day or Swift’s wedding dress have been officially released to the public.
Fortunately for Travis, 37, William still let him into the picture that went viral despite only being Swift’s boyfriend at the time.

During a rare TV appearance on The Graham Norton Show for a special Earthshot Prize episode last week, William, 44, admitted he didn’t realise how “significant” the photo was when Swift shared it.
It was during that same episode that he confessed to trying to kick Travis out of the snap.
“Travis kept coming back in, and I couldn’t work out why he kept coming back in,” he said.
“I was trying to move him out so it was just me and Taylor and the children!”

Clearly it didn’t bother Travis, who invited the Prince of Wales onto the New Heights podcast earlier this year for a 28-minute interview focused on William’s interest in sports and many sporting patronages.
William even referenced his father King Charles’ “hatred” for football, admitting he hadn’t grown to love it through him.
“My family haven’t got a particularly long history with football. There are a few of us who support teams,” he quipped.
What do the royals watch on TV? William revealed on The Graham Norton Show last week that his kids are particularly invested in reality TV series The Celebrity Traitors.
Prince William made history as he appeared on The Graham Norton show, and the 44-year-old royal also shared a glimpse of his cheeky sense of humour. BBC
“I love it, the family love it. Charlotte and Louis are obsessed with it. It’s really good telly,” he told Norton.
“I saw Ross Kemp the day after the first episode and I couldn’t help but try, in the most appropriate way, to touch him to see what reaction I got from him. Turns out he was really jumpy!”
