Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber break silence a month after son Presley Gerber’s death

Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber have spoken out after their son Presley Gerber’s death last month.
Almost a month after he died aged 27, his parents and sister, Kaia Gerber, 25, paid tribute in a post shared on Crawford’s Instagram account.

“We are beyond heartbroken to lose our beloved son and brother,” the family began.
“We feel so blessed to have had Presley in our lives for 27 years. He is a sweet, beautiful soul who loved and is loved, now and forever. We are so proud of how he showed up in the world, with kindness and vulnerability.
“We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support from so many who know and love our family and even strangers who feel our pain. ’Til we meet again, our sweet boy. We love you forever, Mom, Dad and Kaia.”
In her own lengthy statement addressed to her brother, Kaia said she didn’t have the words for “the magnitude of losing you”.
“You know how much I loved being your sister. It has always been, and will forever be, my favourite thing about myself,” she said.
“I came into this world with a white-knuckle grip around you. I had more love for you than I knew what to do with. And now that it has nowhere obvious to go, I’m certain it’s going to swallow me whole.”
Kaia said she was “born loving you”.
“I will die loving you. There was never anything else.”
“I keep thinking about how when we were little,” Kaia added,“I got scared before getting my ears pierced, so you went first.”
“But when i held the earring they took from your body, all i could think was: that belongs to you.... and i really f--king wish you hadn’t gone first this time.”
Gerber was pronounced dead on September 20 after emergency crews were called to a Santa Monica rehabilitation facility. He was 27 years old.
TMZ reported he had arrived at the facility the previous night and was later found inside a bedroom.

On September 21, the Santa Monica Police Department said his death was being investigated “as a suspected overdose” and that there was “no indication of foul play”.
No official cause of death has been released.
Gerber was reportedly cremated after a private family funeral.
He had been open about his struggles with mental health and substance abuse.
“Having struggled with mental health, depression and some other things that come along with that, I think that whether I help one person or 100 people get out of that place that I was in at one point in my life, that’s all I need to do,” he said on the Studio 22 podcast in 2023.

He hosted a social media series called Mental Health Mondays, where he shared updates on his journey.
“It’s been incredible seeing how far that message has spread and how many people it’s helped,” he said in November 2025.
“I’m proud that something I created has inspired others and started a bigger movement around openness and healing.”
