George Clooney breaks silence after death of close family friend Presley Gerber
George Clooney has broken his silence following the sudden passing of their close family friend Presley Gerber, son of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber.
Clooney briefly addressed the death of Presley Gerber at the 2026 Albies, hosted by the Clooney Foundation for Justice.

“We’re not even in a position to talk about it, it’s one of the most devastating things that has happened to our family,” Clooney told Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet, as wife Amal stood beside him.
“And their family is just … as you can imagine. It’s the worst thing that could ever happen to a family.”
The Clooney’s are close friends with the Crawford-Gerber family. George and Rande started Casamigos Tequila together in 2013 before selling the company in 2017.
The families have remained close, with US outlets reporting the Clooney’s were emotionally supporting the Gerber family following Presley’s death.
His younger sister, Kaia Gerber, was reportedly struggling to cope in the days following her brother’s passing.
Kaia, 25, and Presley had an extremely close bond, with the model reportedly taking his loss “very, very hard.”
“They were insanely close”, a source told Page Six at the time. “I don’t know how she’s going to go on without him. They were way more than brother and sister… she is heartbroken. They were like best friends.”
Mum Cindy Crawford was “inconsolable” about her only son’s shock passing, a source revealed to Page Six.
“She’s absolutely devastated. This is every parent’s worst nightmare, and the family is still trying to process everything that happened,” the source claimed.

Gerber was pronounced dead by paramedics at 9.45am on September 20 after emergency crews were called to a Santa Monica rehabilitation facility. He was 27 years old.
TMZ reports he had arrived at the facility the previous night and was later found inside a bedroom.
Audio of emergency dispatches previously obtained by media outlets referred first to a cardiac arrest and later to a suspected overdose.
But authorities have not confirmed an overdose as his cause of death. Investigators are also awaiting toxicology findings.
Presley was reportedly cremated after a private family funeral. His parents will reportedly keep his ashes at their California home.
