Presley Gerber reportedly cremated as family plans private funeral

Presley Gerber has been cremated at age 27 as authorities continue investigating what caused his death.

A death certificate obtained by TMZ shows Gerber’s body was released to his family following an examination and cremated at Rose Family Funeral Home.

His parents, supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, will reportedly keep his ashes at their California home.

The document lists Gerber’s occupation as an entrepreneur working in mental health, according to the outlet.

His official cause of death has not been determined, with further testing ordered by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner before a finding can be made.

Gerber was pronounced dead by paramedics at 9.45am on September 20 after emergency crews were called to the Santa Monica rehabilitation facility.

TMZ reports he had arrived at the facility the previous night and was later found inside a bedroom.

Audio of emergency dispatches previously obtained by media outlets referred first to a cardiac arrest and later to a suspected overdose.

But authorities have not confirmed an overdose as his cause of death. Investigators are also awaiting toxicology findings.

Funeral plans are now being made, according to TMZ, with the family reportedly considering a small service.

Gerber’s death came after he had spoken publicly for years about addiction and his mental health, including treatments he had sought to recover.

Earlier this year, he shared details of undergoing ibogaine treatment, a psychedelic addiction-reset therapy, in Mexico.

“Quiet moment before everything changed. i was absolutely terrified, and I knew I would be again if I ever had to face something like this. helps to not go into the situations you do that get ya there but that’s life sometimes,” he wrote.

His mum responded: “You are a warrior! Walked thru the fire to find yourself! So proud!”

Sister Kaia Gerber wrote: “That’s my brother I am so damn proud.”

His dad added: “I’m so proud of you and your courage. Facing what’s hard takes real strength and watching you find your way back to yourself is everything. I love you so much.”

The family asked for privacy following his death, a representative said in a statement.
