Top Gear’s Richard Hammond says he was the ‘happiest in years’ after losing marriage, home and fortune
Former Top Gear host Richard Hammond has opened up about life after the end of his marriage with wife of 23 years, Mindy.
The 56-year-old, speaking on the High Performance podcast on Thursday, said he was the “happiest I’ve been in years” following his divorce in 2025.

The TV host has since revealed a new relationship with therapist Keira ‘KiKi’ Glen, 53.
“In the last two years I lost my father, my dog, my marriage, my house, most of the chunk of the money I earned from The Grand Tour,” Hammond shared in the candid interview.
“And I don’t give a s--t. The happiest I’ve been in years was living in a rented cottage, my ‘divorce’ cottage.
“I loved it. I rang a mate of mine, Peter, who runs a big estate. ‘[I said] Peter, you know how sometimes a chap needs to no longer live where he lives quite suddenly’.
“He owns this huge estate, and he said, ‘I’ve got just the place for you.’”
The English presenter said he rented the small farm house as he admitted, “I lived there for a year and I bloody loved it.
“When friends came over, they came over to see me. Not the house, not the collection of cars – because that’d all gone.”

He spoke of cooking Sunday roast for 14 of his friends, and moving the furniture outside to fit everyone.
“I loved it. Absolutely adored it. Very, very happy times.”
Richard and ex-wife Amanda ‘Mindy’ Hammond split in January 2025 after 28 years together.
“Our marriage is coming to an end, but we’ve had an amazing 28 years together and two incredible daughters,” he said in an X statement at the time.

“We will always be in each other’s lives and are proud of the family we created.”
The couple share two daughters, Izzy, 25, which whom Hammond hosts the podcast Who We Are Now about men’s mental health and raising children, and Willow, 23.
Hammond and new girlfriend Glen went public with their romance in June, eight months after the end of his marriage.
The star served as host of Top Gear from 2002 until 2015 with Jeremy Clarkson and James May.
