Jeremy Clarkson made a devastating plea to his partner Lisa Hogan amid his battle with prostate cancer.

In a new interview, Hogan revealed that when Clarkson, 66, was admitted to hospital to treat his cancer, he begged her to not film him for his docuseries Clarkson’s Farm, as he was reluctant to share his cancer journey on the show.

“I’m really happy he caught his prostate cancer early and I’m really proud of him for putting it on the show, because that was a really big decision,” Hogan told UK outlet the Daily Star.

“When I was filming him in hospital at first, he said, ‘Please don’t’.”

Eventually, Clarkson agreed to go public with his diagnosis after his long-time producer Andy Wilman convinced him to share his story on the show.

“It was producer Andy Wilman who convinced him to do it, to help everybody else. When the show came out, Prostate Cancer UK had 30,000 people going on to their website in one day,” Hogan said.

Clarkson is now in remission after undergoing high-intensity focused ultrasound treatment, which uses high-frequency sound waves to heat and destroy targeted cancer cells.

Hogan continued, saying Clarkson’s diagnosis was “a terrible worry,” but the Top Gear alum found support in his friends who had been through the same thing.

“What I did encourage him to do was to talk to his friends,” she said. “He didn’t want to initially, but he’s got lots of friends who’ve been through the same thing and he’s been talking to them about it. I think that’s really helped.”

He first revealed his diagnosis in the final episode of the fifth season of Clarkson’s Farm.

Just days after the episode’s release, he revealed on his social media pages that he was in remission.

Clarkson has continued to be vocal about the diagnosis and has also urged men to get tested, even if the thought does feel uncomfortable.

“The more observant among you will have noticed that I’m not dead. And I’m not just not dead, I’m perfectly fine,” he joked sarcastically in the video.

“The reason why I’m fine is because the doctors caught the prostate cancer early. And they caught it early because I got tested.

He even urged his fans to “lie” if their doctors refused to test them on the grounds of not having any symptoms.

In Australia, it is estimated that there were 28,868 new cases of prostate cancer diagnosed in 2025, with 3,975 estimated deaths from the disease, making up 13 per cent of all male deaths from cancer in 2025.
