There was a time in the 2010s when you couldn't open a magazine, scroll on Twitter, or head to the cinema without seeing Jennifer Lawrence's face.
She was on top of Hollywood after filming The Hunger Games and had already picked up several major awards by the time she turned 25, but as the decade came to a close she quietly vanished from the spotlight.

Born August 15, 1990, Jennifer Shrader Lawrence grew up in in Indian Hills, Kentucky with her parents and two older brothers, Ben and Blaine.
She was a surprise baby, as dad Gary, a construction company owner, and mum Karen, a summer camp manager, were convinced they were finished having kids.
As a youngster, Lawrence had the same rough and tumble upbringing as her brothers and was a bit of a misfit, though she loved performing from a young age.
Still, no one expected her to be spotted by a talent scout while on a family holiday to New York when she was 14.
It led to auditions with talent agents, getting signed to CESD Talent Agency, and even a brief stint modelling for Abercrombie & Fitch.
Though her mum urged her to pursue modelling jobs, Lawrence was set on a career in acting and dropped out of school at 14 to pursue that dream.
She worked as an assistant nurse at her mum's camp while auditioning for roles in her teens and landed her first TV gig in 2006, though her face was only visible for a few seconds.
She made a brief appearance as the team mascot in an episode of Monk (Mr. Monk and the Big Game), and while it wasn't a leading role, it was a start for the 16-year-old.
Lawrence scored small guest roles in shows like Medium before finally landing a recurring role as rebellious teen Lauren in the sitcom The Bill Engvall Show in 2007.
She received praise for her expert portrayal of "the perpetual exasperation of teenage girls" (per the New York Daily News ) and even won a Young Artist Award for Outstanding Young Performer in a TV Series for the role.
But she wasn't content with TV roles; Lawrence had her eyes on the silver screen.
In 2008, she made her film debut in Garden Party, another project where she played a rebellious teen, though this one took things a lot further.
Her performance helped her nab a role in The Burning Plain that same year, where she starred alongside A-listers like Kim Basinger and Charlize Theron.
Despite being just 18, Lawrence held her own and earned herself the Marcello Mastroianni Award for Best Emerging Actress at the 2008 Venice Film Festival.
She picked up another award - Outstanding Performance Award at the Los Angeles Film Festival - for her performance in drama film The Poker House that same year.
It was safe to say her star was on the rise.
After a few years of bit roles, Lawrence had her breakout moment as a serious actor in Winter's Bone (2010), an independent drama based on the novel of the same name.
She played an impoverished teen caring for her mentally ill mother and younger siblings in the brutal Ozark Mountains, all while trying to track down her missing father.
Lawrence did such a brilliant job that she won the National Board of Review Award for Breakthrough Performance for the role and even scored her first ever nominations for the Golden Globe Award, SAG Award and Academy Award for Best Actress.
She was the second youngest actress to ever be nominated in the category at the Oscars at the time.
Smitten with cinema, Lawrence took supporting roles in films like Like Crazy and X-Men: First Class in 2011.
She portrayed blue-skinned Mystique in the latter and reportedly spent upwards of eight hours having the blue makeup and latex scales applied to her entire body for some scenes.
While it looked amazing on-screen, Lawrence had some issues with the getup.
"The guys who made it were like: 'Well, she's a girl. She doesn't go to the bathroom!'' she once told Graham Norton during a TV appearance.
"So, I pee standing up out of a funnel."
Not only did X-Men: First Class boost her public profile, it was also where she met and fell for fellow actor Nicholas Hoult.
Sparks flew on set and the pair began dating in 2010 and seemed smitten until 2013, when they suddenly split.
Though they reunited soon after, the relationship ended for good in 2014, around the same time they finished filming X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Despite the fact their romance didn't work out, the two actors remained friends - but by that time, Lawrence was a household name all because of one mammoth franchise.

In 2012, Lawrence hit movie screens for the first time as Katniss Everdeen in the film adaptation of Suzanne Collins' The Hunger Games book trilogy.
Suddenly, the indie cinema darling was one of the biggest names in Hollywood and had millions of fans all around the globe.
Lawrence took the role seriously, learning archery, rock climbing, and hand-to-hand combat to better portray the reluctant teen leader of a dystopian revolution in what would go on to be four massive films.
The role made Lawrence insanely famous, but it was a lot to handle at 22.
"I couldn't really be an observer of life because everybody was observing me. I could feel my craft suffering. And I didn't know how to fix it," she confessed in a Variety interview in 2022.
The same year she took a role opposite Bradley Cooper in Silver Linings Playbook and landed her second nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actress for the part.
This time, she won.
But in her hurry to get up the stairs in her massive Christian Dior Haute Couture gown, Lawrence took a tumble and landed on her face.
This photo, which was snapped seconds after she hit the floor, immediately went viral.
