Room Reveal: Rick and Tayla’s Family Bathroom
The father and daughter duo went for a different approach then the rest of the blockheads for week two… but will it pay off?
It’s the second week on The Block, and the Blockheads have been given the task of renovating their Family Bathroom.

Sadly, judges were met by an unfinished powder room as they stepped into Rick and Tayla’s space - but they still had more to deliver.

Peeping into the room, the judges all agreed that room layout was playing it too safe.
“This would never win,” Marty said.

The judges said that having no upper cabinets wasn’t a wise decision for a primary bathroom.

However, they said the wall tiles behind the vanity were “absolutely stunning.”

Shayna said she appreciated the effort to style the bathroom, but she had notes.

The dried flowers stood out to her as a bad decisions as they could go mouldy. She also added that a bath mat should never be included in a presentation.

Shayna added the towels were too busy and didn’t match the rest of the bathroom. “They’re too loud, they detract from the quiet luxury brief,” she said.

The bathroom was also unfinished, with the shower not being complete in time.

“Yes, they haven’t finished and there’s quite a few details they need to redo, but they’re on a much better trajectory then last week,” the judges said.
