Room Reveal: Rick and Tayla’s Guest Suite
With Rick out of action due to a knee injury, Block All-star Spence and Tayla’s twin sister Shannen stepped in. But what left the judges so horrified?
Tayla was on her own this week with her dad Rick out of commission due to a knee injury. Could she pull through with the help of Block All-star Spence Thomson and her twin sister Shannen?

Right off the bat, they didn’t like the position of the doorway. Marty was quick to point out that there was “no real amenity” in the guest ensuite either.

The judges were also confused by the outdoor chair placed near the wardrobe. One detail, a pot plant hidden under the desk area, sent Shaynna into a fit of laughter. “What is going on?” she asked through amused tears.

Darren said the built-form of the room was good, but it “wasn’t there yet.” However, Marty was much more brutal. “This is terrible,” he reacted.

While the judges knew that Rick was away, their biggest problem was with the styling. “This is not sophisticated, this is not high end,” Shaynna said. They also had a giggle at the wine bottle placed on the bedside table.

They had major issues with the mirror leaning up against the curtain, as well as the doona cover and wallpaper. “This looks like a teenager’s room,” Shaynna said.
