Episode 45 Recap: Kylie flees The Block after Brad admits to flirting with Mimi - and no one knows if she'll return

It is officially Week 12 on The Block with just the front yards left to do to complete the Phillip Island homes.

After that, the teams will spend a week working on the communal clubhouse space, but will everyone make it that far?

Rumours are running rampant at McCafé, as Ricky explains that something happened on Saturday night that hasn't sat well with Kylie.

"Now Brad's in a fair bit of trouble," he says.

On Monday morning, the teams wake for the final Open for Inspections of the season.

The teams are very impressed Courtney and Grant and Maddy and Charlotte's first and second placed yards and cannot help but enjoy the swing sets and games at other houses.

However, the biggest takeaway from the morning is that Kylie has no takeaways. She doesn't utter a word.

Once back at House 4, she tells Brad she deserves better. In a solo piece-to-camera, Brad explains how they got here.

Footage shows House 4 and 5 hanging out on Saturday night and Brad says Kylie overheard "inappropriate comments".

"I was flirting with Mimi, Kylie overheard them and very understandably, she's quite upset," he says.

Kylie calls her mum in the car, as further footage from Saturday night plays.

"How many chances have I given him... time after time," Kylie says, as her mum asks: "So what sort of things were they saying?"

As she notes what happens to her mum, a despondent Brad tells producers in a solo piece-to-camera that he feels embarrassed and hates that he's hurt her.

Meanwhile, the rest of the teams get cracking on the fronts of their homes.

Courtney and Grant are newly flushed with cash this week thanks to their backyard win and two perfect 10s from Darren and Shaynna. They're putting that $30,000 to good use, wanting to create a very grand entrance to House 2.

It's also been raining cash for the boys who are planning big things, and Kristian and Mimi are excited to finally tackle their second-storey entertaining balcony.

They are also lucky enough to pull the hipages lever this week, giving them $10k worth of trades and $5k for whatever they need – and what they need are people to install "pods" that require... interesting hand movements.

While Mimi heads off to shop for next week's clubhouse, Ricky and Haydn also have important business to attend to.

They're off to see a man about a tree.

Quite literally.

They spend a lot of time looking at – and touching – a line of established palm trees until they find "the one".

Ricky and Haydn had earlier spoken to Dave Franklin, who told them he'd never had a discount off this supplier.

Naturally, this led to a bet. If they can get one he'll shout them dinner.

Haydn drives a hard bargain and successfully haggles Ben from Established Tree Transplanters down from $17,000+ to $16,999+.

"Sucked in, Dave Franklin!" they laugh.

The teams also need to nail their garages this week and House 3 builder Duncan has a bright idea. Again, quite literally.

He calls the boys for their opinion on bright pink garage doors, but come on! Have you seen them? They're onboard instantly.

Speaking of onboard, last week's winners Courtney and Grant are on a boat!

They're off to meet Scotty and All Stars Andy and Deb from 2019's Oslo season for a dinner and a night away.

It's not all fun and games though, as Scotty explains the "situation".

Kylie went to a consult this morning and has not returned.

"We found her car, microphone, Block phone, all the high vis. We've done everything we can to locate her, and she's not been seen," he says.

Brad discovers her car abandoned in a carpark and scissors on the front seat offer him a clue: "They won't let you take them as carry on."

Kylie's left one last video on her Block phone saying she is not returning and in a heartbreaking piece-to-camera, Brad says he believes her.

"I'd very much say that I've just single-handedly destroyed my family."

We then see Kristian and Mimi deep in discussion, and she says she and Brad were "just talking" on Saturday night. 

Later on, the couple sit next to each other in a piece-to-camera.

"Can you tell me what happened on Saturday night?" a producer asks Mimi, as she takes a breath and prepares to tell her side of the story.

The Block airs Sunday at 7pm and Monday to Wednesday at 7.30pm on Channel 9 and 9Now.
