Robby and Mat's Rumpus
Coming off a win for their living and dining, Robby and Mat were approaching Week 6 with a different strategy.
Rather than try for back-to-back wins, the lads decided to pull back on their budget and instead aim for the CommBank $10,000 for the best managed budget.

But while it sounds like a good plan, we know things don't often go to plan on The Block!

The rumpus rooms had a very modest suggested budget of $10,000, and Robby and Mat were desperate to come well under that.
They utilised Block bucks as much as possible and successfully saved money... but it wasn't enough to score the weekly $10,000 budget prize from CommBank.

Emma and Ben's saving was even better and they pipped the boys at the post.
Ouch!
To add insult to injury, House 1 and House 5 were both using the same floorboards – and there was not enough to go around.
Emma and Ben's was laid first, leaving Robby and Mat with an incomplete rumpus floor.
They wrote this note pleading for the judges' understanding, but that also didn't go their way...
"Were they out of your control, boys?" Scotty asked, and Robby and Mat reiterated that they very much were.
But try and convince the judges of that!
"How? When you're managing the project, it's in your full control?" Marty criticised.
However, Darren could see a silver lining...
"I'm just gonna say this, on the week where things don't go your way at least you weren't gonna win anyway," he said, looking around at Robby and Mat's space.
Sheesh, that's rough!
Rough, but his colleagues agreed.
"This does not draw you in like those other rooms that we've seen today," Marty said.
"It's not inviting, it's not warm, it's not Daylesford..."
Then he said something that really struck a nerve with Shaynna.
"It's covered in ferns," Marty continued.
"I don't know how many times I can say, stop putting a little tiny plant in each corner!" Shaynna raged.
"One, two, three, four," she said, spinning around to count the plants around the room.
Noted!
Robby and Mat had won Living and Dining Week but now, Marty was absolutely perplexed.
"But how do you go from having one of the best weeks in Block history, everything that they touched, they won, and then, you have to live in a room like this?"
Robby and Mat's (very small) desk confused them almost as much.
"Who's sitting here?" Marty said.
"Well, I don't know, but I haven't come here to study," Shaynna replied.
