Fan favourites Josh Barker and Elyse Knowles built one stunning house on The Block Elsternwick in 2017.

The couple took the risk on auction day to go first and it paid off big time because there was one buyer who was absolutely in love with their home — Dave 'Hughesy' Hughes.

The comedian and TV personality splashed out $3.067m on the property. Now, three years later, he's given his fans a tour through the house.

"Here I am at The Block house that we bought a number of years ago now, it's been rented out for three years," he said in the Instagram video.

He kicked off the tour walking through the front door and straight into one of the guest bedrooms.

"Everyone remembers this series of The Block, 2017," he said as he showed the room. The room is definitely not Room Reveal ready, that's for sure, but it looks very lived in.

From one bedroom and into another and the ensuites, the house isn't styled exactly like Elyse had done week-by-week.

"Josh and Elyse built this place, there you go, surfers," Hughesy said as the camera focused on a piece of art featuring a surfer on a wave.

"Remember the study, they built the study … Cool bookshelf."

In the laundry the tenants have made one small change, adding a dog door to the glass door outside.

"Doggy door, said it's OK if they put in a doggy door, might remember my 'they can put in a meth lab' joke," Hughsey said.

We don't often get to see what The Block houses look like after tenants move in or they hit the rental market, so it's great to see how people actually live in these places.

From the fireplace to the butler's pantry, the tenants have clearly enjoyed living in the Elsternwick home.

Into the backyard and you can see how fantastic the garden looks now the plants have matured.

"Josh and Elyse, your property is a pleasure to live in according to the tenants. Good times, good times at The Block," Hughesy said.

Hughesy first got a look at the Californian Bungalow the couple were building earlier in the 2017 season when he popped by for a cooking challenge.

"Josh and Elyse have done such a good job, and I fell in love with it and here we are," he told 9Entertainment after the winning bid on auction day.

It wasn't the comedian doing the hard work on auction day bidding though, he left that up to buyer's advocate Greville Pabst, who only started bidding halfway through the auction.

"A little bit late," Hughesy joked.

"I was always lingering on the outskirts of the property and I don't live too far away so I was able to drive past and think, 'Gee it's a good spot, it's a good house, it's a good area,' and now we own it."
