Meet South Australian farmers Daniel and Jade

South Australian parents Daniel and Jade make up one team of Blockheads who will be going on the ride of their lives as they compete on The Block 2020.

From what we know about them so far, if anyone can handle what The Block throws at people, it's these two.

"The drought started and we've been doing it pretty tough since then," Daniel explains in their promo. "Had a small debt and now it's grown to a million dollars."

Jade sits beside her husband, wipes away tears and says, "It's extremely stressful when you've gotta keep the money coming in."

"Life's a battle, just keep on going," adds Daniel.

Daniel and Jade are farmers from South Australia. Aside from their struggles with debt and drought, there's another, more important reason they're doing the show.

"For us The Block's massive because we have a daughter who has a chromosome disorder — she's one of eight in the world to have this disorder," explains Jade. "With that financial support Isla can get any extra help that she needs."

In the promo clip the teams arrive on site and Scotty Cam announces, "Welcome to The Block Brighton!"

An elated Daniel and Jade are out the front, and he picks her up and looks like he's going to carry her over the threshold like newlyweds.

"South Australia's Daniel and Jade are taking on the biggest Block rollercoaster of all time," says the voice-over.

From what we know, this season is going to be full of ups and downs. A clip of Scotty saying, "I'm shutting it down, now," flashes up. Jade is in tears out the front with Daniel comforting her.

This year teams will be bringing five family homes from five different eras back to life, with the promos teasing, "A journey back through time."

The five couples chosen from a record-breaking number of entries for The Block 2020 are:

Harry (57) and Tash (32) — The first father and daughter renovation duo, an IT manager and a social media project manager from Melbourne.

Sarah (27) and George (33) — Teacher and electrician from Sydney.

Daniel (35) and Jade (34) — Farmer and hairdresser from Wandearah in South Australia.

Luke (35) and Jasmine (36) — Chippy and teacher from Perth.

Jimmy (33) and Tam (31) — Plumber and bar manager from Brisbane.
