Maddy and Charlotte's Final Guest Bedroom and Laundry

Maddy and Charlotte described this week as "kind of frustrating."
Hoping to deliver a luxurious yet functional guest bedroom, they quickly learned there are quite a few regulations when it comes to designing built-in bunkbeds.

They also had to deliver a laundry / powder room after facing a waterproofing disaster, tiling setback and a series of costly delays this week.
In the end the bunkbed got approved but did they deliver a completed space?
Scroll through to see what judges Shaynna Blaze, Darren Palmer and Marty Fox thought of Maddy and Charlotte's final bedroom and laundry.
The girls spent $36,043 on their room this week.
"You want to show the judges your vision. I wanted to create a beautiful space but it just didn't look how I wanted it to," said Maddy.
"I wasn't exactly proud of that."
"This [room] ain't getting a win, with all this paint on the floor," she said.

"I feel like our favourite feature has to be the elevated bed," said Charlotte. "The whole room itself is a cool concept."
But would the judges agree?
Walking into their final bedroom, Marty worried he'll hit his head on the eye-level shelf next to the door.
"That could be a bit dangerous, watch yourself," he warned.
"I nearly hit my head!" said Shaynna.
They then took in the space.
"It's not finished but we can see the idea is... brilliant," said Marty.
"But look at the floor, the skirtings, the finishes – it's just incomplete."
Shaynna however, had a lot more to say.
"Honestly, the design is beautiful, the colours are beautiful, the idea that is is a self-contained unit... but I wouldn't rent this out as a couple because I'm looking at a cupboard.
"I've come here to Phillip Island to feel a getaway. This doesn't feel like a getaway. And if I'm coming here with two kids, I don't want them sitting above me."
Upon further reflection, Marty also started to wonder about his earlier enthusiasm.
"It probably should have been a little bit more open, and a little bit more luxurious.
"It's got function but it doesn't have that magic, it doesn't have that emotional pull from a marketing persescptive to make somebody say 'Yes, I need to book that'."
"Hang on, there's a robe there for all their clothes, the craftmanship of this bed, that is just absolutely beautiful," Darren praised the positives.
"That's all made out of timber, that's been made for this purpose, it's not something you buy off the shelf."
Shaynna was on Marty's side on this.
"It just doesn't feel like a second wing. It feels like, 'Yep we can fit four kids in here and they've got an extra play area'."
Darren was digging in, he was in fact a big fan of their upstairs space.
