Scott Cam announces 'biggest prize in Block history', you won't believe how teams can win: 'I'm not coping'

Three weeks into The Block host Scott Cam had a MAJOR announcement.

We're talking a "biggest challenge prize ever" kind of announcement that will consume all 10 Blockheads over the next few weeks.

Only, after Week 5's 'copycat scandal' the challenge stirred drama among two teams, drama that now seems to be "water under the bridge".

Last week Han and Can were accused of stealing Sonny and Alicia's heated seat idea. It's quite the claim to make when a Titanium caravan worth over a whopping $260,000 is on the line.

"I did have a chat with [Alicia]," Han explained.

During that private chat, Han apologised again.

"From the bottom of my heart... I want you to know that I'm sorry," Han said.

Speaking to cameras, Alicia said she would "rather accept the apology and move on". But in reality, she was still unsure.

"It's just awkward I think. Was it a coincidence? I don't know... I've said my piece. I'm just going to see how I feel for a bit."

Sonny and Alicia have their eyes on the prize

Weeks after the announcement and House 4's Sonny and Alicia were the only competitors making an effort to win the major prize, a magnificent Titanium caravan worth over a whopping $260,000.

"This is the biggest prize ever for a challenge in Block history," announced Sonny. "We have to have it."

If you don't remember the Hepburn Bathhouse & Spa challenge, it's not entirely your fault. You see, it's a challenge most Blockheads have been avoiding since it was announced.

Mainly because, it's a whole lot of work.

But not for Sonny and Alicia who are begging for the first win: "We need to win, we have to have an X-factor and having that parked in our yard is an X-factor."

Sonny and Alicia re-write the rules of the challenge

Upping the X-factor, Sonny and Alicia have a secret weapon for their designated spa room: a curved built-in bench seat with underfloor heating.

Except, every other team were told they can't have underfloor heating or an in-built seat in the room because it blocked access to the tap.

By smartly coming up with a workaround that allowed access to the tap and cleaning products, House 4 were told they "could do what they like". It was game on.

Also begging for a win were House 2's Han and Can who seemingly noticed the thermostat outside House 4's room and also installed a heated bench.

"I'm sorry, what?" a livid Alicia reacted.

"I fought the fight to get this to happen," Sonny argued to cameras.

Alicia unleashed: "I'm pi--ed. Sonny has done so much hard work to get this across the line to then walk in and think it's a great idea and to copy it, you're an idiot for thinking you're going to pull it off."

"That will be the end of me," she fumed.

However, Han and Can were adament that they hadn't copied and it was all a big misunderstanding.

Despite this, the couple made a huge call to try and smooth things over with their rivals: offering to give House 4 the caravan if they win.

Scott makes a major announcement

Upon announcing the Hepburn Bathhouse & Spa challenge, the prize was so big, Scotty needed the help of AFL Hawks champion Josh Gibson to reveal it.

"I wanted him to see the look on your faces..." Scotty teased. "Because that is the prize!"

Jaws dropped as the host pointed to his magnificent Titanium caravan worth over a whopping $260,000, to be sold with the winning team's home come Auction Day.

"That has to be the biggest prize in Block history, that's nuts," said Britt. "Insane."

"Scotty's caravan is top of the range," gushed Sonny.

We're talking king bed, double bunk bed, slide-out barbecue and 50-inch TV!

The van will go to the winning team in Scotty's new challenge and will be parked in their driveway come Auction Day and sold with their home.

"That is a serious upgrade," Scotty teased.

An upgrade like this could mean the difference between winning and not winning The Block!

What is the $260,000 Block challenge?

The Blockheads headed over to Hepburn Bathhouse & Spa, nestled in Hepburn Springs famous for its mineral-rich waters.

Over the next few weeks, the teams will be transforming the rooms from rubble to luxury as a way to give back to the Daylesford community.

With a $23,000 budget each and complete creative control, it sounds like the dream challenge, right?

"I'm not coping," declared Mat as he reacted to the abandoned room with their name on it.

"The Blair Witch project?! It's terrifying. We're not renovating a spa room, we're renovating a derelict, disheveled pit of hell."

Can they turn this "hell" into a haven?
