Shelley Craft brands one team's living room feature as 'cheap' during weekly walk-around on The Block 2024

Usually The Block's Shelley Craft is oozing with positivity and silver linings, but during this week's walk-arounds even she couldn't help but share her thoughts on House 3's living room.

Kylie and Brad were of course sticking with their all-black aesthetic for Living and Dining Room Week.

Their design included a feature plywood wall that was stained Japan black although Shelley wasn't convinced by the idea labelling it "cheap".

"Is it high-end enough?" a puzzled Shelley wondered.

Shelley wondered why Kylie and Brad didn't just use Shou Sugi Ban – you might recall it was the charred Japanese timber used in their main ensuite.

The answer was simple: Kylie and Brad's budget didn't allow for it.

"We have no money," Kylie said.

It looks like the plywood budget option would just have to do!

During the weekly walk-arounds Scott and Shelley also became privy to a rumour that was running rife around The Block.
