Still on a high from winning Backyard Week, Courtney and Grant had a lot of wind in their sails as they took on their final house renovations.

But when everything is going right, something is bound to go wrong.

That's exactly what happened when Grant hit a stormwater pipe whilst trying to execute their DIY project.

Thankfully they made a quick recovery and with their Moderterranean design front of mind, Courtney and Grant hoped to "come out strong" and win the Mustang that was on offer.

Would they? It all depended on judges Shaynna Blaze, Darren Palmer, Marty Fox and guest judge and landscaper Dave Franklin thought of House 2's front yard and façade.

With a background in landscape development, Grant took the reins on Front Yard Week and had a clear vision in mind.

"We want to focus on street appeal and create a grand entrance leading up to the door," he said ahead of reveals.

If this picture is anything to go by, they did exactly that!

"I feel like we've done the house justice and I feel like we've done enough to win the Mustang," Grant said with confidence.

"I hope the judges sit around our olive tree and look toward that house and see the quantity and variety of plants we have."

Walking toward House 2 the judges had an extra spring in their step.

"That's more like it. It looks lush and expensive and inviting," Darren glowed

Of course the judges couldn't help but notice the stunning arbours that perfectly framed the entrance to House 2.

With Lilly pilly flanking the arbours on both sides, Dave was fully on board with Courtney and Grant's vision.

"You'll be walking down a long hallway of beautiful green under those lovely architectural arbours," he said.

Looking back at the street through the arbours, the judges fell in love with the statement all over again.

"Look at the repetition of the shape and the angles. I just love it so much," Darren said.

According to landscaping expert Dave, Courtney and Grant had nailed the coastal brief with their selection of plants.

"It's every type of plant that I would want to see here," Dave gave his tick of approval.

What meant more to Marty was that not only did House 2 look great, it also sounded great.

He was talking of course about the amazing water features that created a sense of calm and tranquility.

"Audibly... it's just insane," Marty said.

The judges were all huge fans of the stark black-and-white contrast of House 2's exterior.

"It just works and we've got this beautiful sandstone and limestone to soften it all," Darren remarked.

The travertine steps from the garage to the entrance were just as functional as they were aesthetic.
