'This is crazy': Shelley Craft stunned by Maddy and Charlotte's 'big secret' during walk-arounds on The Block 2024

With a new team and mammoth main bedrooms to deliver, there couldn’t be a better time for Block hosts Shelley Craft and Scotty Cam to check in on the contestants.

And as the duo completed walk-arounds this week, Shelley met new team Maddy and Charlotte who, she soon learned, had a "very big secret weapon" to share.

Over at House, 1 Scotty made the introductions.

"I want to know what mid-20-somethings can drop their lives, jump on a plane and and start renovating within a day," Shelley questioned after meeting the girls from Sydney.

"Wait for it, Shell, here it comes..." Scotty teased before they dropped the bombshell.

"Well, we actually work for ourselves," revealed Maddy, 24. "We flip properties."

Shell was lost for words.

"Oh no," she laughed in disbelief. "This is crazy."

The sisters have renovated four properties since leaving high school (three currently in progress), "not to the extreme" of The Block they admitted.

They girls revealed they had close to $100,000 in savings, news that left mum-of-two Shelley in quite a proud emotional state.

There was a change of mood in House 2 however. Walking in, Scott had a bone to pick with 'Grumpy' Grant. If you recall, the host was "not impressed" after Grant bailed on Scott's $25k challenge.

"That is not allowed to happen ever again," Scott warned him.

"It's unfair to the other teams, you're here working on your bedroom winning 10,000 bucks, while they've left their bedroom back at the challenge.

"That is almost paramount to cheating," he added.

To make things fair, Shelley jumped in with quite the unique punishment.
