Isabel Vella and Connor Deighton make Love Island Australia history with engagement

Love Island Australia’s Isabel Vella and Connor Deighton have made history as the first couple from the Australian series to get engaged.
The loved-up pair announced the news on Instagram, with a carousel of photos from a romantic beachside proposal, showing Connor getting down on one knee in front of a shocked Izzy.

“It will always be you, 4/11/26.” Izzy said, with a lock and heart emoji.
Sophie Monk was among those to congratulate the pair.
“CONGRATULATIONS, I’m so happy for you both,” the Love Island Australia host celebrated.
Many of their cast mates from Season 7 joined in too.
“My two favourite people in the entire world!” said Gabby. “Most exciting FaceTime call EVER.”
Yana, who won the series with boyfriend Kye, said: “YAYAYAYAYAYAY MUM AND DAD ARE ENGAGED.”
Hundreds of others including Tammy Hembrow and Married At First Sight’s Evelyn Ellis also shared congratulatory messages.
Izzy and Connor are no strangers to Australian TV firsts, leaving last year’s series in dramatic fashion after superfans voted Isabel their least favourite Islander, dumping her from the Villa and leading Connor to make the noble choice to go as well.

They had been “inseparable ever since”, the pair told nine.com.au at the time.
“I’d been in there for two weeks. If I sat around in a villa for two more weeks and lost a great connection, it would’ve been pointless,” Connor said.
For Isabel, that move confirmed to her their connection was real.
“I think in that moment that was the most genuine thing he could have done because he was like, ‘I don’t give a f--- about the show’,” she explained.
The pair spent some time travelling Europe after being dumped from the villa. Nine
"It took so much for both of us to get on the show and so to leave like that, it showed more authenticity about his personality and about our relationship, so I think for me it just confirmed that everything I've been feeling is real and we have just grown and accelerated since then."
The duo moved in together on the Gold Coast last December and despite their shocking exit, returned to Love Island Australia in 2026 as one of the “power couples” taking control of the Season 8 Villa.
