MAFS’ Evelyn Ellis breaks silence on Duncan James split rumours

Exclusive: Married At First Sight’s Evelyn Ellis has clapped back following rumours of a split from long-term boyfriend Duncan James.
The 30-year-old told nine.com.au the rumours were simply “not true” after reports emerged they were living separate lives and in very different places in their relationship.

“I find it so funny that some people can’t comprehend that couples have their own interests and identities sometimes,” she said.
“I feel that people think me and Duncan are joined to the hip, but that’s not true.”
Speculation of a split emerged after Ellis was spotted travelling across Europe without James, her partner of three years. The star had been documenting her European summer, attending A-lister events such as The Monaco Grand Prix and Cannes Film Festival.
Outlets also noted the couple hadn’t been photographed together on their social media pages since early May.
Ellis made it clear that she was simply on a girls’ trip and has been travelling for work.
“I believe everyone should follow their dreams, take risk and have adventures with your girlfriends even when you’re in a relationship,” she said.
As for James, the 41-year-old has been busy back home in Sydney working on and building his cybersecurity business CyberAi.

His last social media post of Ellis was in May 2026. The star shared a throwback photo of the couple sharing an outdoor sunset bath, reminiscing on their “first trip together” in 2023.
In fact, things could be getting serious between the couple as they perhaps prepare to settle down.

On Monday Ellis posted a video of herself enjoying a few drinks in Europe, with a caption that read: “Having my hot girl summer because it might be the last before I’m somebody’s mum.”
The caption seemingly alluded to settling down and starting a family in the near future.
Ellis and James were both stars of Season 10 of MAFS in 2023.
The pair struck up a friendship in the months after the show finished filming. In May 2023, the couple confirmed they were officially in a relationship by making the news public with nine.com.au.
