AFL trade period, day two AS IT HAPPENED: Unwanted Demon Clayton Oliver tours GWS facilities; Multiple 'brazen' clubs approach Nick Daicos directly about trade interest
AFL trade period: Day two
How it works
The AFL trade period is a 10-day window where AFL clubs are allowed to trade players for each other or draft picks. It runs until the evening of October 15, and usually sees around 30 players shift clubs each year.
Players who have been with their clubs for six years qualify for free agency and are allowed to change clubs freely without needing to be traded.

Goodbye
We might leave it there today, folks.
A reminder that two trades were completed today, with ruckman Liam Reidy crossing from Fremantle to Carlton and small forward Malcolm Rosas Jnr switching from Gold Coast to Sydney.
Our AFL trade period live blog will be back up and running again from 8am tomorrow.

Bombers not chasing a replacement for Draper
Essendon is satisfied with its ruck stocks and will not be looking for another big man after Sam Draper's exit, says list boss Matt Rosa.
Draper joined Brisbane as an unrestricted free agent on Saturday, leaving Nick Bryan, mid-season draftee Lachie Blakiston and Vigo Visentini as Essendon's ruck options.
Bryan is recovering from an ACL rupture suffered in April.
"We thought Nick started the year really well and we're bullish he'll be back in the early stages of next season," Rosa told AFL Media's Gettable.
"Unfortunately, with our injuries, Lachie had to play key back. It was great to see how he adapted to that role after never playing key back in his life.

"I think if you saw his last quarter against Gold Coast in the last game, he played in the ruck and showed his athleticism and that's his natural position. We think he's capable.
"And Vigo, who we got a glimpse of this year — another big summer and we think he'll jump again.
"We're quite comfortable with where we sit."
The Bombers received pick No.20 as compensation from the AFL after Draper's departure.
Premiership Swan scores Sydney coaching role
Premiership Swan Nick Malceski is leaving the Gold Coast Suns after landing Sydney's VFL head coaching gig.
Malceski spent the past two seasons working as a development coach with the Suns, but he's now reuniting with the Swans 13 years after kicking the goal that sealed victory in the 2012 AFL grand final.
Swans legend Jarrad McVeigh, who was a co-captain when Sydney won the 2012 flag, vacated the club's VFL head coaching job last month to take up an opportunity overseas.
"I'm thrilled to return to Sydney, where I have such great memories as a player," Malceski said in a Swans statement.

"Developing younger players is something I'm really passionate about, and I'm looking forward to working with Coxy [AFL head coach Dean Cox] and the coaching group this year."
Malceski was inducted into the Swans Hall of Fame in July.
The champion defender played 176 AFL games with Sydney, before departing for Gold Coast after the 2014 season and playing another 34 matches with the Suns.
He retired from the AFL after the 2016 season.
Crows interested in young Bulldog
Adelaide has inquired about young Western Bulldog Ryley Sanders, according to AFL Media's Cal Twomey.
Sanders played 21 senior games for the Bulldogs this season after 14 in 2014.
But the 20-year-old was not a midfield regular this year, spending most of his time as a forward or winger, and will likely get little midfield time next season if he remains at the Dogs given the likes of Marcus Bontempelli, Ed Richards, Tom Liberatore and Matt Kennedy.
Sanders is contracted to the Dogs until the end of next season.
Where in the Port side will Wehr play?
It's Zachary Gates jumping into the blog for a pinch hit as Port Adelaide recruit Jacob Wehr joins AFL Trade Radio for a chat.
The former Giants utility, who joined the Power yesterday after 39 senior games with GWS, was asked if he knew what role he would be playing for his new club.
"I think the wing's probably where I'll play, and hopefully I can put my best foot forward over pre-season and I'm there come the start of next season," Wehr said.
"I'll be doing my best to be out there round one next year on the wing."
Wehr was drafted to GWS in 2020 as a 22-year-old, before being delisted at the end of that season having played no senior matches.
GWS then re-drafted him as a rookie in 2021 and he made his AFL debut the following season.

What to make of Daicos report
First things first, Collingwood fans, you have nothing to worry about. Clubs approaching Daicos to gauge any interest in a trade does not suggest he wants out, nor does it suggest anything will happen.
He is contracted through to 2029 where he will hit free agency. You'd imagine the only way he leaves Collingwood between now and then is if Tassie hits him with a godfather offer that includes a multi-million-dollar signing bonus.
It is fascinating though. Which teams have approached him directly? Will the Pies feel the need to up his contract as a result? Remember, Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera just signed a contract worth $2m per season.
At the end of the day, this doesn't feel like a story that will develop any further this trade period ... you'd think.
Nick Daicos approached by rival clubs to gauge trade interest
AFL Media's Cal Twomey is reporting that multiple clubs have reached out directly to Nick Daicos and his management to see if he is gettable in this year's trade period.
He has not been driving it, but clubs have reached out directly to him.
He's signed until the end of 2029 and Twomey says he is not pushing for a trade, nor is Collingwood looking to trade him.
Simply that clubs have directly asked him whether he would consider a move.
"It shows the world we're now in where nothing and nobody is off limits and anything can be prised open," Twomey told AFL Media.
"It's noteworthy how ambitious and brazen clubs are now that even he is considered approachable and fair game in a trade sense."
Twomey added that Daicos' management has denied the story.
