Room Reveal: Adam and Jolene’s Rumpus and Laundry
The couple went a few thousand dollars over budget but it was absolutely worth it when the judges laid eyes on their rooms.
Adam and Jolene were all about neutrals and texture in their Rumpus and Laundry rooms, which turned out to be a hit with the judges.

Darren Palmer called the rumpus room a “feast of texture” the moment he stepped inside, and it’s easy to see why.

Shaynna Blaze loved that Adam and Jolene did another feature wall behind the TV to echo the ones in the living room and main bedroom. Palmer went so it “the best thing they ever did”.

They both loved this ocean-inspired artwork behind the couch, but Palmer wasn’t convinced by the picture they chose for the Grafico feature wall.

Marty Fox agreed, “That’s not shouting ‘luxury’ at this price point. You don’t see many homes in Mt Eliza at $4-5 million with walls that have that type of art.” He did love the exercise machine they tucked up against the feature wall, though.

Even though Blaze loved the room, she felt there was space for more activities, rather than sticking to a traditional couch and coffee table setup.

She was pleased to stumble upon the hidden kitchenette moments later, which was packed with everything from a sink, to a mini fridge, and coffee machine. What more could you ask for?

The only thing Blaze really couldn’t stand was the plant in the corner of the room. You can see it in the picture above: one sad little pot plant tucked behind the couch. “How many times do I have to say I do not want to see a teeny tiny plant in a corner?” she moaned.

There was another little plant on the bench in Adam and Jolene’s laundry as well, which Blaze wasn’t a fan of. Fortunately, the rest of the “sexy laundry” distracted the judges.

The functional details ticked all of Blaze’s boxes and Palmer and Fox only had good things to say about the room.
