Episode 31 recap: Team furious after rival caught snooping in neighbour’s house

Last night’s public Battle of Freedom between Tayla and Jolene is over, but the repercussions are not.

For starters, someone in the editing suite has let their Star Wars fandom take over.

Secondly, Tayla’s making a very late dash to pick up the tiles her team needs for the community challenge.

And thirdly … Jolene’s still mad.

On the bright side, their happy family rivals finally have a problem too.

Site manager Spence is frustrated that no one from Team Maddy and Charlotte is at the Unit 5 apartment.

Meanwhile, there is brazen theft happening back at the Block.

Wyatt has claimed a bunch of established trees at the on-site Bunnings.

Rick doesn’t think this is fair so he steals some for himself, taking them to House 5 for safekeeping.

Once Wyatt realises, under the cover of darkness and with no one else on site, he enlists Courtney to help him get them back.

They claim the olive tree Chantel wants most is not even on House 5’s property thanks to a very tenuous technicality, and Wyatt makes a not-so-covert getaway.

Getting away with it has emboldened our new partners in crime, so Courtney suggests they go check out House 1.

As they’re rummaging through boxes uncovering Adam and Jolene’s plans for their rumpus, Jolene returns.

Courtney drops and immediately escapes without being seen, but it’s impossible for actual giant Wyatt to do the same, and he’s caught red-handed.

He tries to play it cool and pretend he’s looking for Adam, who has not been around all day, but absolutely no one is buying it.

It sets Jolene off.

She rages that while the other men have been hard at work at the community challenge, Wyatt’s nowhere to be seen because he “couldn’t give a f---“.

A shocked Lisa does her best to calm Jolene down while also balancing a large tray of Maccas drinks in her lap. Multi-tasking at its finest.

Both Wyatt and Courtney think Jolene has massively overreacted, although they have added a few choice F-bombs to their retelling.

The next morning, things are very awkward.

Wyatt privately apologises to Jolene, who admits she was a little “triggered”.

While she accepts it, she tells cameras it felt a little “fluffed”.

There is actual building-related drama in House 3.

While focusing on the charity house, they have fallen very far behind and Foreman Dan raises major concerns.

Luckily, Lisa nor Rosco is home when Sev takes a cheeky snoop, pretending she misses the smaller rumpus space of House 3 over House 4’s gigantic one.

It’s a lie, but that seems to be part and parcel of Block life at the moment!

Time is starting to run out on the community challenge and it’s all hands on deck to get these apartments finished in time.

It’s emotional and heartwarming as the teams, sponsors and others from the community band together to get this done for such a worthy, necessary cause.

Lisa heads out shopping for chairs, only to get extra familiar with the driver’s one in her car.

She claims it has broken down … except it hasn’t. She just forgot to put her seatbelt on before trying to turn it on.

At least she can use pregnancy brain as an excuse.

On the bright side, none of her teammates are at the apartments either, so at least they won’t know she’s been missing.

Tomorrow night, the Ranch 2.0 apartments are revealed. And back on site, there are crimes to solve and even more yelling to be done.
