IKEA and Byredo founder collaborate on luxury candles at a very affordable price

When it comes to luxurious scents, Byredo is up there with some of the best, but the price point — especially for the candles — makes owning one a dream more than reality.

Well, that was until Ben Gorham, the brand's founder, teamed up with IKEA to develop the OSYNLIG collection of candles, which combines luxury and an affordable price.

The two have come together to create a range of high-end scents at a low-price, but be warned the limited collection is going to be one of the most in-demand launches.

The range consists of 13 candles divided into three bases: floral, woody and fresh. Prices start at $9.99 and go up to $49 depending on the size.

"We're excited to be able to collaborate with the founder of such an exclusive fragrance house and together develop a collection that has a scent for everyone and at such a low price. Smell is the layer that completes the home and allows you to create an emotive environment that you feel connected to", said Birgitta Elmgren Cruden, Business Leader for Home Decoration and Outdoor.

The candles not only smell fantastic, but are chic and stylish too, making them the kind of piece you'll want to display in your homes.

According to the IKEA Life at Home report, people make a strong connection between how they perceive smell, and their feeling of home. This knowledge inspired the collaboration and together with Ben Gorham, IKEA has explored how to make use of the power of scents to create invisible design and to overall enhance people's life at home.

"Smell is a very relevant part of the home, and it creates a sense of comfort and security. We're trying to develop a ton of smells enforcing the idea that everyone has a different relationship to it, and nothing is right or wrong", Ben Gorham said.

OSYNLIG will launch in Australia from February 1 so you better be quick if you want to get your hands on it.
