All Stars Jimmy and Tam on how winning The Block 'completely changed' their lives as they dish 'priceless' advice to this year's teams

EXCLUSIVE: The Block 2020 winners Jimmy and Tam were renowned for finishing their rooms well before the 'tools down' call – that's no easy feat!

So it was no surprise that when the All Star duo came down to Phillip Island, Guest Bedroom Week winners Kristian and Mimi wanted to pick their brains.

The Queensland couple's lives "completely changed" after they put their lives on hold and walked away from The Block with over $1 million after a blink and you'll miss it auction.

In an exclusive, unseen and extended clip – which you can watch above – Jimmy and Tam dish the key to winning The Block – staying in your lane.

Jimmy and Tam told Kristian and Mimi to find their area of expertise in the building process and stick to it.

"Where Tam and I really excelled is that I ran the site and Tam had her role in styling and we never really blurred those lines," Jimmy explained.

"I never made any decisions on tiling or any of the styling and Tam never really came in on the floor plan or anything like that."

The pair also revealed just how much winning The Block has changed their lives over the past four years.

"We were renting before we went on The Block and we were both in jobs where we would never see each other so the show has allowed us to move to the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, buy our own home and renovate it," Tam explained.

"We didn't ever see that happening for us. Never ever ever."

Jimmy and Tam were much loved for their down to earth nature. Tam worked in her local pub for over five years while Jimmy worked as a plumber.

"Look at that, she worked in the bowlo as a barmaid and now she's got her own homewares store," host Scott Cam said proudly.

The pair also attributed The Block with bringing their family closer together.

"I feel like us as a couple, we're unbreakable because we've been through something that not many people have," Tam said.

Jimmy and Tam also revealed a few hilarious tidbits like what gives them flashback to harder times on The Block.
