Last year, as The Block marked its 20th season, your favourite couples from years gone returned to dish out their best tips and tricks and reveal what they've been up to since their appearance on the show.

The returning All Star Blockheads included:

Steph and Gian (2023), Eliza and Liberty (2023), Jimmy and Tam (2020), Alisa and Lysandra (2013, 2014), Ronnie and Georgia (2020, 2021), Michael and Carlene (2014), Kyal and Kara (2014), Tom and Sarah-Jane (2022), Omar and Oz (2022), Dale and Sophie (2012) and Andy and Deb (2019).

Here's all the best styling and building tidbits they shared:

Week 12 - Andy and Deb

We've seen some familiar faces return to The Block this year, but none like Season 19 stars Andy and Deb!

The 2019 All Stars made a surprise return during Courtney and Grant's winners are grinners dinner. They brought the laughs and some cheeky nuggets of advice.

"When you celebrate, you just can't say 'sucked in' to the others," Andy cheekily offered.

Sophie and Dale first appeared on The Block in 2012 on Season 5, then Dale returned the following year in an All Stars season and he finally finished off his hattrick in 2014 on Fans vs Faves.

It was a match made in heaven as "landscape extraordinaire" Dale met with landscape business manager Grant just in time for Backyard Week and unsurprisingly the pair swapped many tips and tricks.

But the main thing that Courtney and Grant took away from their meeting with Sophie and Dale was that sometimes simple is better.

"Soph and Dale are very pared back people and it was just a reminder that you don't have to go all showy with a garden it can be practical," Courtney said.

Week 10 - Omar and Oz

Ricky and Haydn were stoked to meet Block 2022 winners Omar and Oz, admitting that they saw a lot of themselves in them.

But Omar and Oz also had a lot in common with tied winners Maddy and Charlotte, namely that they unintentionally ruffled the feathers of their competition.

Omar and Oz had some sound advice for the girls, telling them to focus on their game and Block out all the outside noise.

Week 9 - Tom and Sarah-Jane

Since appearing on Season 18 in 2022, Tom Calleja has become a huge part of the Block family. The plumber returned in 2023 and has again spent a lot of time in Phillip Island this season to help oversee the builds.

In Week 9 he was joined by wife Sarah-Jane to dish out advice to Living and Dining Week winners Kylie and Brad.

"Tommy is great and I have said to him numerous times how much I have wanted to meet his wife Sarah-Jane, so I was ecstatic" Kylie gushed.

Over dinner, Tom asked the pair how the rest of the contestants week during the all-important week.

While Kylie said the rooms were "amazing", Sarah-Jane spied doubt on Brad's face: "He's like, 'No they weren't!'" she laughed, before Scotty decided to get to the bottom of their opinion.

Week 8 – Eliza and Liberty

Who could forget everyone's favourite rookie renovators turned million-dollar winners Eliza and Libert?

They met with the Second Guest Bathroom Week winners Maddy and Charlotte to dish out some much needed advice from one pair of sisters to another.

Maddy and Charlotte explained to Eliza and Liberty that they were struggling to establish friendships and connections with the other teams.

"It's disappointing that we don't have the friendships with the other contestants that we thought we would," Maddy vented.

But Eliza and Liberty had some clear advice for the girls when it came to navigating co-stars on The Block.

"Be the bigger people and be who you are and don't lower yourselves to all the drama," they said.

Week 7 – Michael and Carlene

Michael and Carlene faced one of the most disastrous auction results in Block history during their 2014 Glasshouse season.

Despite being competition frontrunners, they walked away with a total of $10,000 prize money. But, they weren't "bitter" about the results, they reassured Kitchen Week winners Brad and Kylie.

In fact, they managed to turn their Block experience into a "life-changing" opportunity. You can find out exactly how in the video here:

And when it comes to delivering a winning room, Carlene couldn't deny her two key takeaways.

"Pinterest and Instagram are amazing," Carlene shared excitedly. '"Just to constantly have that design reference to keep going back to."

But that wasn't the only thing they should be referencing.

"You can't deny [your house's] location," she reminded them. "Make sure you keep referencing back to that... it can be just really subtle references."

Week 6 – Kyal and Kara

Kyal and Kara soared to popularity on The Block: Fans v Faves in 2014 and they returned to help this year's contestants renovate Woolamai beach surf life saving club for a special challenge.

Having gone on to successfully complete more than 35 renovation projects since The Block, Kyal and Kara's advice was well-worth listening to.

Their golden rule? Don't take the judges' feedback personally.

"When you get your feedback from the judges, we had a couple of pretty low weeks where we got pretty belted around, and you just have to take those moments as constructive criticism," Kyal said.

"If you can learn from that and read between the lines of what they're actually telling you then you can use that and grow from that and make your rooms heaps better."

Week 5 – Ronnie and Georgia

Ronnie and Georgia made their mark on The Block when they competed during 2017 and again in 2021.

Despite placing third in 2017 and last in 2021, the duo claim the title of most Room Reveals won by any couple on The Block ever.

That title alone meant that any advice they were willing to dish out was worth listening to.

According to Georgia, planning was key when it came to success on The Block.

"By Wednesday I'm not shopping anymore because I already know what my room will look like," Georgia said of her ideal renovation timeline.

Week 4 – Alisa and Lysandra

When identical twin sisters Alisa and Lysandra stepped onto The Block 11 years ago, they could've never imagined what was to come.

They met with Main Ensuite Week winners Courtney and Grant to impart all of their Block wisdom.

If there was one thing Alisa and Lysandra wanted Courtney and Grant to take from their meeting it was always make the layout of your room a priority.

"The one thing we always did well was the layout. Don't worry about what the room looks like, worry if it's functional first," Alisa said.

Scotty seconded that, calling it "the best advice [he's] ever heard".

Week 3 – Jimmy and Tam

Jimmy and Tam told Kristian and Mimi to find their area of expertise in the building process and stick to it.

"Where Tam and I really excelled is that I ran the site and Tam had her role in styling and we never really blurred those lines," Jimmy explained.
