The Block royalty Dan Reilly and Dani Wales return to the 22nd season of the reno show to deliver their brutally honest feedback on the teams’ rooms.

That’s right, our exclusive Dan vs Dani series is making a comeback! Keep reading to see just what the power duo thought of each every single room on The Block.

Week 5: Living, Dining and Alfresco

This week’s Dan vs Dani started with big congratulations from guest host Sarah-Jane to Dan on the birth of his and Dani’s son Fletcher. At the time of filming, he was just two-days old.

The good news aside, Dan and Sarah-Jane had some serious business to get to with The Block team’s Living, Dining and Alfresco space revealed – and there was a million-dollar mistake they just couldn’t get past.

Week 4: Main Ensuites

This series is called Dan vs Dani, but it was Dan versus ex Block contestant Sarah-Jane Calleja who stepped in for Dani who was heavily pregnant at the time of filming.

At the time, Dan and Dani were expecting their baby boy Fletcher “any day now” but even still they had work to crack on with.

Week 3: Main Bedroom and Walk-in Robes

Good news, the teams managed to deliver (mostly) finished rooms this week! But while there were some stunning spaces, not every team impressed.

From “tombstone” details in one room to a DIY job from Courtney and Sev that left Dani absolutely horrified, there was a lot to say this week.

Week 2: Family Bathrooms

Plenty of Block teams delivered unfinished bathrooms, but it was in the most complete room that the Dan vs Dani duo realised something major was missing.

Looking up and around in Adam and Jolene’s Family Bathroom Dani shrieked “I’m shook!”

Week 1: Guest Bedrooms

It only took seconds before Dan made a snide remark about Chantel and Wyatt’s room, more specifically their painting.

“You’d want it to be good, these were the guys caught cheating,” he said referring to the couple getting their chippie to paint. The Block rules stipulate the team must pain their house, no outside help is allowed.

Over in Courtney and Sev’s guest bedroom, Dani looked up to discover a major error in the team’s winning room.

Who are Dan and Dani?

The couple are two of the most familiar faces on The Block having first appeared in Season 5 in 2012 as contestants. The couple returned in 2013 for The Block All Stars.

Their Block career didn’t end there with Dan, a certified builder, working alongside Keith as a Foreman – a gig he started back in 2015 under the title ‘foreboy’.

After Keith stepped down in 2024, Dan took on the role as sole Foreman.

Dan and Dani tied the knot in 2018 after nine years together in an intimate ceremony on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula.

Together they launched the Billies Besties Fund in honour of their late baby daughter Billie, who passed in December 2024.

They welcome their second child, a son named Fletcher in April 2026.
