The Block royalty Dan Reilly and Dani Wales return to the 22nd season of the reno show to deliver their brutally honest feedback on the teams’ rooms.

That’s right, our exclusive Dan vs Dani series is making a comeback! Keep reading to see just what the power duo thought of each every single room on The Block.

Week 12: Front Yard and Facade

We’ve arrived at the final week of Block room reveals! Dan and Dani certainly didn’t hold back when it came their final inspections of the front yards and facades.

Walking into Lisa and Rosco’s space, Dan and Dani were immediately struck by a massive eyesore: a shed with a fold-out door revealing a built-in cooking and TV setup.

The duo felt the addition was completely unnecessary and, worse yet, blocked parts of the property’s million-dollar water views.

“What were they thinking?” Dan questioned it.

Week 11: Backyard and Garage

Dan and Dani were excited to see The Block houses come together with the completion of their backyard and garages but a lack of any “big wow” factor in Chantel and Wyatt’s yard had the duo feeling the space was a little undercooked.

While they weren’t completely offended by the simplistic yard, they couldn’t say the same about Chantel and Wyatt’s garage. The space featured a blinding optical illusion floor that Dani claimed was “strobing”.

Adam and Jolene’s garage sparked a debate between the couple over whether the garage could fit one car or two. Dan insisted there was only room for a single vehicle, while Dani argued the depth allowed for two cars parked end-to-end.

If Dan’s take holds true, the single-car capacity could take a serious bite out of the home’s resale value.

Week 10: Outdoor Terrace and Pool

Dan and Dani were stepping outside into the teams’ outdoor terrace and pools for a change of scenery.

Walking into Courtney and Sev’s space it was the first of two houses that had the pool out the back rather than in the front. Would it make a major difference?

Before Dan and Dani could reach a conclusion over the pool placement they were struck by a high bar that got in the way of their $37,000 terrace.

“What is that!?” Dani shrieked, before Dan added “That high bar is horrible!”

“It’s a big miss for me, it just looks ugly.”

Week 9: Kids’ Bedroom

Having welcomed their own son Fletch, Dan and Dani were excited about this week’s Kids’ Rooms, only to be instantly disappointed.

The duo couldn’t get past one “nightmare” detail in Courtney and Sev‘s $50,000 winning Kids’ Room, while spotting an Auction-costing “disaster” in another.

“I hate that,” Dani declared in one unveiled space. “Why would you not get rid of that? It’s so bizarre.”

Week 8: Rumpus and Laundry

You’d think delivering a Rumpus and Laundry would be hard to get wrong, but there was plenty to loath when Dan and Dani walked through.

In their eyes, there was a lot that “didn’t make sense” about this week’s Room Reveals, including a “ridiculous” execution detail in one $39,000 space that left the duo repulsed. While Dan came across one of the “best rooms [he’s] ever seen on The Block.

Week 7: Kitchen, Pantry, WC and Lift

They say kitchens are the heart of the home, but Dan and Dani certainly weren’t kind when they ripped into this week’s kitchen spaces.

Of course, there was a lot to love, but one house left the duo speechless and not for the reason you’d hope for. “Get rid of it,” Dan demanded as he spotted one inclusion, before stepping into a space “so boring”, he’d “forgotten it” already. Savage.

Week 6: Guest Suite

After two weeks away, Dani returned to The Block site with plenty of opinions! Dan had also been away following the birth of their son, Fletcher, meaning both went into the viewing with absolutely no idea what to expect.

This week they had both bedrooms and bathrooms to critique as the team’s completed their Guest Suites – including a couple of “weird” styling choices.

Week 5: Living, Dining and Alfresco

This week’s Dan vs Dani started with big congratulations from guest host Sarah-Jane to Dan on the birth of his and Dani’s son Fletcher. At the time of filming, he was just two-days old.

The good news aside, Dan and Sarah-Jane had some serious business to get to with The Block team’s Living, Dining and Alfresco space revealed – and there was a million-dollar mistake they just couldn’t get past.

Week 4: Main Ensuites

This series is called Dan vs Dani, but it was Dan versus ex Block contestant Sarah-Jane Calleja who stepped in for Dani who was heavily pregnant at the time of filming.

At the time, Dan and Dani were expecting their baby boy Fletcher “any day now” but even still they had work to crack on with.

Week 3: Main Bedroom and Walk-in Robes

Good news, the teams managed to deliver (mostly) finished rooms this week! But while there were some stunning spaces, not every team impressed.

From “tombstone” details in one room to a DIY job from Courtney and Sev that left Dani absolutely horrified, there was a lot to say this week.

Week 2: Family Bathrooms

Plenty of Block teams delivered unfinished bathrooms, but it was in the most complete room that the Dan vs Dani duo realised something major was missing.

Looking up and around in Adam and Jolene’s Family Bathroom Dani shrieked “I’m shook!”

Week 1: Guest Bedrooms

It only took seconds before Dan made a snide remark about Chantel and Wyatt’s room, more specifically their painting.

“You’d want it to be good, these were the guys caught cheating,” he said referring to the couple getting their chippie to paint. The Block rules stipulate the team must pain their house, no outside help is allowed.

Over in Courtney and Sev’s guest bedroom, Dani looked up to discover a major error in the team’s winning room.

Who are Dan and Dani?

The couple are two of the most familiar faces on The Block having first appeared in Season 5 in 2012 as contestants. The couple returned in 2013 for The Block All Stars.

Their Block career didn’t end there with Dan, a certified builder, working alongside Keith as a Foreman – a gig he started back in 2015 under the title ‘foreboy’.

After Keith stepped down in 2024, Dan took on the role as sole Foreman.

Dan and Dani tied the knot in 2018 after nine years together in an intimate ceremony on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula.

Together they launched the Billies Besties Fund in honour of their late baby daughter Billie, who passed in December 2024.

They welcome their second child, a son named Fletcher in April 2026.
