'Never forget that': All Stars Alisa and Lysandra on the auctioneer speech that won them The Block

EXCLUSIVE: Identical twin sisters Alisa and Lysandra won The Block: Sky High in 2013 but only by a hair, beating competitors Madi and Jarod by just $4,000.

More than 10 years on from their epic auction win, Alisa and Lysandra returned to The Block in 2024 as All Stars and credited their auctioneer and his very clever speech for convincing buyers to put down the final bid that won them The Block.

"He [the auctioneer] won us that by pushing that last $5,000 with that coffee spiel, I'll never forget that," Lysandra said.

After walking away from the 2013 auction with $395,000 in prize money, Alisa and Lysandra returned to The Block 2014: Fans vs Faves but explained that season was an entirely "different story" for them.

In the exclusive video the sisters, who met with Courtney and Grant earlier in the week, looked back on the very different conditions of the show 10 years ago compared to today.

"The contestants now don't know how lucky they've got it," Alisa laughed.

Since leaving The Block, Alisa and Lysandra quit their jobs as police officers and went on to build a business empire that you'll find in the homes of Aussies across the country.
