There are three days left to deliver a full Living, Dining and Alfresco space on The Block, and Adam and Jolene are risking it all for a win.

There’s also the literal risk their giant floor-to-ceiling mirror will crack or plummet two storeys in the air as it’s being craned in.

Holy mirror. Nine

With high winds, the process is so nerve-wracking, we feel sick.

And so does Jolene: “I feel physically ill.”

The other Blockheads watch on as the nearly four metre mirror worth $3,000 dangles in the air. They have no idea what House 1 have planned.

Then Adam and Jolene’s second secret weapon arrives (and they’re really not good at being discreet).

A gorgeous, custom 10-seater dining table from renowned furniture maker, Christian Cole, appears on the driveway with the furniture maker himself.

It's sight so beautiful, it makes Sev cry.

“Stupid table.”  Nine

"I know every house is going to be so jealous," boasts Adam.

Sev IS jealous. That was supposed to be her custom table that she locked in before the competition even started.

If they hadn't spent $50k on a bathroom, then maybe it could have been yours, darl.

But the girls have learnt their lesson this week, and can you believe they’re *checks notes* cutting back?

Courntey and Sev aren’t going for the design win, but for the best budget award. With a strict $15k budget for three spaces, there will be no fireplace and no Christian Cole dining table.

Their new design style moving forward is now ‘frugal’. Sorry, we mean minimal. Just no more DIY bedheads, OK?

Shelley and Scotty are only slightly concerned by House 1’s ‘elevated budget’ look.  Nine

Over at House 5, Tayla is ready to install her flashy new fireplace.

Only her plans still haven’t been approved and frankly, Site Manager Aiden is ready to walk out.

It’s not Tayla’s idea that’s the issue, Aido simply needs legible, detailed specs.

Not whatever this is.  Nine

“I’m done. I’m done,” declares Aido after he throws her designs to the floor and storms out.

“We are trying to help, but we can’t work off the crap you are giving us.”

We can feel his frustration.  Nine

Tayla’s two fireplace guys happen to be listening.

“We can explain,” they offer and when they explain it, it seems to make sense! Fifteen minutes later, huzzah! Rick and Tayla got the green light.

Now we need a breather, and the Blockheads need some cash.

So, Shelley organises a surprise Freedom challenge with two special guests: TV couple and recent home-renovators Laura Byrne and Matty J.

It’s only been a day since Foreman Dan left for the birth of his baby so everyone was holding their breath – but fear not the husband-and-wife duo are only here for a challenge.

The Block Episode 20

Matty J and Laura Byrne are here for a good time, not a long time! Nine

It’s chaos. Rugs, lamps, plants are flying everywhere. Madness.

The winner takes home $5,000 cash, catch the best styled lounge right here:

After ‘stealing’ supplies, House 1’s Adam is pulling another sneaky move – and the contestants are peeved.

The girls in House 4 are sharing a wet saw tile cutter with Rick and Tayla in House 1.

But someone else on site (cough, Adam) has come up with the same idea, and he doesn’t intend to share. At all.

Sneaky Adam strikes again.  Nine

So when Courtney and Rick’s wet saw stops working, they crawl to Adam for help.

They get a “straight out no”.

Courtney thinks it’s a “shady move” on Adam’s behalf, while Rick comes to a confronting realisation.

“Adam is playing the game. So, we’ve just got to be careful, mindful of how they operate.”

“I forgive, I don’t forget,” warns Courtney.

This Sunday night, cracks start to appear as teams race to finish their room, and we sense some frosty comments from the judges.

Grab your popcorn, we’ll see you then!
