Team’s dismal DIY stops Dani in her tracks while Dan slams duo’s ‘tombstone’ bedhead

Exclusive: Well, Dan and Dani really made the most of their walkarounds before they are due to welcome their little bub!
The clashing duo had plenty to say about the Main Bedroom and Walk-in Robes the teams delivered – seeing as this week, most of them were finished – but they did have one major issue with Courtney and Sev’s room in House 4.
Dani certainly didn’t hold back on her opinions this week! Nine
Dan ripped straight into the tiling, which Sev had to do herself due to budget.
A shocked Dani gasped, “You can’t do that!” upon spotting the dodgy edges on the marble tiles.
“Good on her for having a go,” Dan replied.
But Dani wasn’t having it, and said it’s not the place to start attempting to learn how to tile.
“Holy moly,” she said as she looked around the room.
Both of them had an issue with the carpet inlay in the floorboards, the unnecessary expense of a coffered ceiling and the controversial bedhead.
The wardrobe was another big problem with the space from the girls, although Dan pointed out there was one basic reason for it.
She noted that House 4 now felt like a “completely different house” compared to the bathroom delivered a week prior. Dan quickly reminded her why: they hadn't actually designed the wardrobe themselves, but rather inherited the layout when they chose the house.

The duo began their tour in Adam and Jolene’s home, with Dani immediately questioning the bench in the walk-in robe. For her, the size was off for the space.
Dan was also “complexed” (read: perplexed) about the positioning of the full-length mirror in the room.
“The bed looks really small in the space now because it’s just shoved in,” Dani pointed out, after she noted all of the unnecessary additions to the space.
Next door in Chantel and Wyatt’s room the couple were impressed with the sheer size of the wardrobe, Dani noted, “It feels like a kitchen, it goes on and on and on.”
“How do we feel about the archway? Is it a new in thing, the archways? It looks like a tombstone,” Dan said of the feature behind the bed.
Dani agreed, although she did love the minimal bed and wall lighting choices the couple went with to finish the space.

As they walked into Lisa and Rosco’s House 3, Dani noted how much she loved the door, although she quickly realised there was one big problem with it.
“The first thing I will raise with you, there’s no secondary door,” Dani pointed out as they went to the bedroom.
“So you’re going to get all of the light coming from down there, all the time. From the skylights and from the glass door.”
The fluted glass door, while it is a beautiful addition, Dan did agree with the light issue and suggested maybe a slider door could fix that.
While Dan found a lot to love in House 5, the artwork wasn’t doing it for him. Nine
Lastly, they headed to Rick and Tayla’s and were delighted to see that for the first time the father-daughter duo had actually finished their room.
“This artwork is fantastic,” Dani exclaimed of the giant piece that ran along the hallway between the bedroom and the wardrobe.
Dan found a lot to love in the space too, like the flooring but he couldn’t quite get on board with the artwork like his wife.
For Dan, he loved the coffered ceiling a lot more in House 5 compared to their neighbours, and Dani agreed, putting it down to the fact that they hadn’t “overdone it”.
