Foreman Dan warns team of rival's huge 'secret weapon' in private chat: 'There's people playing the game'

It's no secret Gold Coast parents Sonny and Alicia are hardworking, but after failing to secure a win they soon realised it was time to "play the game".

After all, The Block is only the biggest renovation competition in the nation.

Snooping around on site, the duo got the wake-up call of their life.

Exactly what did they find? Catch the video above.

It all came after a secret chat with Dan, a two-time ex-contestant turned Block foreman.

"Anything he tells me, I'm going to listen," said Sonny. "Because that could be the key to us winning."

DAN VS DANI EXCLUSIVE: 'Hate it': Couple erupt over 'stupid' bedroom feature while one team's Main Bedroom is slandered as a 'circus'

So Dan began: "The best advice is, you need something that sets you apart."

Dan explained that during his 2013 All Stars season, he and wife Dani lost to "two people that shouldn't have won because they had a secret weapon".

That weapon was Phil and Amity's secret loft that "destroyed" Dan and Dani come Auction Day.

Dan left Sonny with some final words: "You're here to win, you're here to change your life. You've got think of a big weapon because there are big weapons out there."

"There's people playing the game better than us," Alicia admitted.

In that moment, Sonny and Alicia knew they had "sniff around" to find out what those weapons were.

And that's exactly what they did, starting in the ever so secretive House 5, where Sonny found a "gaping big hole" in their yard.

Upon closer inspection they also found some formwork and took a sneaky snap to help identify what it was.

Swapping their hard hats for detective hats, Sonny and Alicia may have figured it out: giant hole + formwork + joinery = wine cellar.

House 1's Ben was onto Robby and Mat too.

"It looks like they're putting a wine cellar or bunker in," Ben passed the intel to wife Emma.

"I very politely said, 'We haven't asked what's going on in your house so you can head up on back to House 1, please'," said a sneaky Mat.

Let the games begin!
