‘It was like The Hangover movie’: The Block winners Courtney and Sev wake up marked for life after wild post-auction party

Exclusive: How do you celebrate winning The Block auctions and the biggest-ever prize in the show’s history? By getting a tattoo if you’re Courtney and Sev!
The duo wanted a permanent memento of their life-changing achievement so, with the help of fellow Blockhead Tayla, they got inked up.

“[Tayla] had one of her friends who’s a really, top dog, tattoo artist in Melbourne here,” Courtney told nine.com.au about how the idea came about.
“He was down in Tayla’s rumpus room and, so we got The Block symbol, like the target symbol that’s in The Block logo,” Courtney said.
It wasn’t until Courtney woke up in the morning that she realised just how many tattoos she had inked.
“I woke up in the morning and I saw I ended up getting two tattoos. I also got 429, (which is for House 4, auction order 2, and 9 McKillop Place, Mt Eliza). So Sev and I are getting the matching one of that,” she explained.

“And I woke up in the morning, it was like The Hangover movie. I was like, can I put booze on my arms? I was like, hang on a second … It was epic!”
While it was a really special experience for the duo, they admitted getting a tattoo “was not on the bingo cards”.
“What a cool experience to get tattoos after an auction day, that’s nuts!” Sev chimed in.
It wasn’t just Courtney and Sev that got inked up, Block executive producer Julian Cress could also be seen sitting in the chair!

Courtney and Sev made history when they sold their house for $4,720,000, which was $1,270,000 above their reserve process.
The best friends then won another $100,000 cash and Scotty Cam’s $500,000 prize pool for winning the series.
From their prize pool, Courtney and Sev will donate $75,000 to the My Room Children’s Cancer Charity, something they decided they would do during the show.

“After we did the charity challenge, we saw an opportunity there that if we did make a buck [on auction day], and we were in a position to make a donation, that was always high on our agenda,” Sev said.
