'This is insane': The Block's Dave Franklin is blown away as he visits the National Pool of the Year in Australia's Best Pools
When Australia's temperatures are soaring, there's nothing better than climbing into a gorgeous swimming pool to cool off.
In Australia's Best Pools – which you can watch for free on 9Now – host and The Block's landscaping legend Dave Franklin tour some of the country's best pools, alongside Jessica Roberts, Josh Packham and new host, Bondi Rescue's Anthony 'Harries' Carroll.
Australia's Best Pools continues Saturday at 4:00pm on 9Life.
In a recent episode Dave headed to Orangeville in New South Wales to check out a pool that nabbed the title of the SPASA Australia National Pool of the Year Award in 2022.
"This pool is insane," Dave said as he peered at the epic design, which featured water chutes, a fire pit, entry stairs, an infinity edge, a big beach area and a mammoth spa.

Dave asked the question on everyone's lips as he spoke to the owner, Tom, and Luke Bruni from Transform Pools.

"To try and design something like this, it's hard to put a price on it," Dave said. "So I'm going to put something in... for the viewers, just the pool alone.
"I'm thinking $750,000 to $1 million?"
"It's close, Dave, it's close," Luke replied.
Elsewhere in the episode, the team also went to take a peek at Scotty Cam's pool that he built during the 2022 season of The Block in Gisborne, Melbourne - designed by Dave Franklin, of course.

Speaking about the design, Dave said: "When you are working on The Block, the brief is - get it done quick.
"This house was from 1880, so what we had to do was bring a bit of old and mix it with new."
