Good night!

Lachlan Harper

This is a first for me, closing this off before the morning.

But alas, that's all from us at Wide World of Sports.

Thanks for tuning into the LIVE coverage.

We'll be back for the final tomorrow!

Sinner avoids offending coaching staff

Lachlan Harper

Jannik Sinner has undergone a significant transition since he lost in the quarter finals of the Australian Open three years ago.

He changed his team, and hired Simone Vagnozzi and Darren Cahill as coaches.

There's been a rise in the rankings to no.1 and two grand slam titles to go with it.

"Honestly every coach I went through there's a huge amount of work we have done," he told Nine post-match.

"That was a tough moment to change ... now I have an incredible team right there and they've made me a different player.

"Every coach has their own department where they're good and I have two very different coaches, Simone is very tactical, he was ranked 161 and Darren was around 30 so it's a bit different," he smiled, bringing a laugh from the crowd.

"But that's why he always said even when he played his goal was to be a coach. I have to say he's a very, very good coach, he's an amazing coach."

Sinner went on to say his coaching staff is "like a family" before confirming this will be Cahill's last season.

The Italian went on to make sure he doesn't forget other members of his team.

"I don't want to forget my physio and physical trainer because if not they get very offended. The whole team is amazing," he said.

Sinner shakes off injury concerns

Lachlan Harper

Jannik Sinner has essentially declared there's nothing to see with his injury concerns after pulling up lame on numerous occasions during his semi final.

"Just a lot of tensions today, slight cramps, but also he was suffering today in his legs," he told Nine's Jim Courier post-match.

"... these matches can go very long, three sets for two and a half hours is quite a time."

Sinner into another grand slam final

Jannik Sinner has won!

Despite not being at full fitness, he dominated Ben Shelton to win in straight sets.

The final score 7-6 (7-2), 6-2, 6-2.

"He'll be very happy to have got through and survived," Lleyton Hewitt said on Nine.

It'll be the world no.1 taking on the world no.2 in the final.

Shelton absolutely gone

The American has unraveled.

He lost that game without winning a single point on serve.

To make matters worse, it ended with a double fault.

Sinner now serving for the match.

There's hydrolytes going to Jannik Sinner.

And pickle juice and a gel.

And some massaging.

Sinner breaks!

Lachlan Harper

Ben Shelton has been broken on his serve and the racquet is copping it.

He dropped it straight after losing the point. Then on his way to his seat.

Sinner leads 3-2 in the third and he's on serve.

Sinner 'in a spasm'

Lachlan Harper

Jannik Sinner continues to struggle.

He went really hard on a backhand and hit it long. He then pulled up very stiff.

"He's in big trouble," Jim Courier said on Nine.

"He definitely pulls up in a spasm there."

More break points blown

Lachlan Harper

Jannik Sinner's done it again.

Two break points down but he wins the game.

"That'll be relief to him and his team to escape that," Todd Woodbridge said on Nine.

But all is not well.

Lleyton Hewitt notes Sinner's corner tried to get a special drink to him during the game break.

"There's no doubt he's dealing with something right now," he said.

Trouble for Sinner

Lachlan Harper

Jannik Sinner is struggling a bit here.

Shelton managed to bring up two break points and it left Sinner looking ginger.

"He pulled up with a big limp, I've got a feeling he might be cramping," Todd Woodbridge said on Nine.

"He's certainly dealing with something at the moment," Lleyton Hewitt added.

Sinner defended the break points though to bring it back to deuce.
