Simon Brunsdon began his journalism career straight out of high school in 2009, going from completing his HSC and finishing Year 12 to taking a cadetship with Wagga Wagga’s The Daily Advertiser. After completing the cadetship and working in the Riverina for almost five years, he moved to Wollongong to be deputy sports editor at The Illawarra Mercury.
Simon moved to Sydney in 2015 to write rugby league for Fox Sports, and spent six years there before moving to Nine where he began as the inaugural afternoon editor within the WWOS team. Simon became deputy sports editor in early 2023 and his role includes sourcing and producing content across a range of sports, as well as editing the work of colleagues and helping to drive the editorial direction of the website.
