Melania Trump takes over the FLOTUS Instagram account with the release of her Official White House portrait

Melania Trump has officially taken over the First Lady Of The United States Instagram account. 

The account for the FLOTUS has been passed onto the wife of US President Donald Trump and her first photo has been unveiled. 

Making her debut on the account, the 54-year-old posed for her Official White House Portrait.

The black and white shot features Melania standing behind a desk, wearing a tailored black blazer, crisp white shirt and black trousers. 

With her hands placed on the desk in front of her, it evoked a powerful feeling from her gaze and was taken by photographer Régine Mahaux.

The post was simply captioned: "First Lady Melania Trump's Official White House Portrait". 

The First Lady's office has confirmed that the photo was taken on January 21, 2025 and in the Yellow Oval Room of the White House.

The image was also shared on her personal Instagram account.

The Yellow Oval Room is a special place for the first lady, and one she spent a lot of time redecorating during her husband's first term as President.

In her memoir Melania, she said the Yellow Oval Room in the residence was a 'favourite' and she designed the rug on the floor.

"I carefully selected beautiful antiques from the White House collection," she said.

"I personally designed a custom rug featuring American Beauty roses, blue ribbons and a trellis motif to tie everything together."

As she makes her return to the White House for her second term as First Lady, she is hoping for more support for her work, including her 'Be Best' initiative which focused on children's mental health and social media use.

"I didn't have much support from anyone. I invited all of the streaming platforms to the White House. I had the roundtable, and I didn't have much support from them," she told Fox & Friends.

"And imagine what we could do in those years if they will rally behind me and teach the children and protect them about social media and their mental health."

This time, Melania said she plans to build a solid team and will be largely based in Washington DC in the White House.
