Subway Australia has assured customers there is a new loyalty program in the works for budget-conscious customers.

This follows the closure of the sandwich chain's popular Subcard program which will end on August 31.

"Following a review of loyalty and gifting systems, the current Subcard programme will close on August 31, 2026 in Australia and New Zealand," they said.

"In its place, we're developing a new loyalty programme designed to offer guests greater value and recognition for their loyalty.

"In the meantime, guests can continue to earn Reward Dollars on purchases until June 30, 2026 and redeem any earned balance until August 31, 2026.

"Any valid unspent Gift Dollar balances as of August 31 will be honoured through the Subcard® programme via a refund of equivalent value."
